If a guy goes to a party gets drunk and gets beat up, and comes back to the party to shoot the guy who had beat him up, but ends up shooting someone else because of his drunken state, then how many years would he do?? (also that person has never been in jail, never received tickets, or ever had trouble with the law)

this question of yours is a dangerous simplification of a very serious offense ! First: if someone parties a lot and gets drunk regularly, it is highly unlikely that his police records are clean...Second: if someone has beaten you, you should call the police and press charges against such a person, it'll undoubtedly turn out much better for you; he will have to pay for your injuries both internal and external...
So, I should say that your proposition of going back trying to shoot a guy is in deed the worst possible thing to do...
It wouldn't matter much if you succeeded in killing the right felon or not, it would undoubtedly qualify as voluntary manslaughter !

id give him LIFE life for a life he shouldnt even have a gun in the first place, secondly getting beat up is no cause to kill someone and thirdly why weapons? the other guy used his fists right?
so why cant he defend himself with fists im a strong beliver in self defence but not weapons !

this was a very silly act and its always the inocent by standers that suffer the conciquenses of wrong dooers actions.

id tell him to take his punishment and be thankfull he still has his LIFE as some poor inocent lad hasnt.

If you're a celebrity none. Otherwise, I would say at least 10, but in this case probably more. Although this guy didn't have a criminal past, and shot the wrong person, it was still a crime of malice, and should bring a longer sentence.
