I get about twelve days a year of paid vacation. I only work a few days in a row and/or fourteen days a month anyway. I also get holiday time (8 hours) for every Holiday that I work. Which means I can take off to make up for having to work on a Holiday. I also get paid time and a half for working on Holidays. I also get sick time that I can take off but can't remember how that accumulates (I hardly ever take off sick). The State gave me a bunch of bonus leave several years ago that I never plan to touch until I retire. I am in no danger of running out of leave time.
I get paid my standard hourly rate for my time off.

If I understand your queston correctly you are asking how vacation time is paid, not how much vacation time Americans are entitled to. If that is your question, then vacation is paid at the same hourly rate as your work pay

If you are asking how much paid vacation, in my case it is 4 weeks. At the same time, my company insists that I bill 1955 hours annually out of 2080 possible hours. Essentially, they are mandating overtime to make up for vacation hours used.

It all depends on where you work and what your company's policy is. I work in a factory and we start out at one week after one year, two weeks after five years, etc. (I live in Michigan).
As a supervisor, I automatically received two weeks when I started here.
