my finacee and I have been raising his sister for 5yrs. and her father hasn't really been in her life. And now he has decided to give up his parental rights so we in the future can not get him for child support. Which we dont care cause we dont want his money. but anyways he doesnt know how to do it and neither do we so does anyone know what is the first step he or we have to do so he can give up his parental right over to us.

I had my child custody finalized in Indiana prior to marrying/moving to Hawaii to be with my Army husband. We're getting ready to move to our next final destination which is back to the mainland. Does anyone know if in the courts of Indiana, you are required to file an intent to move with every move? Also, can a change of jurisdiction be requested once we reach our final destination since it's outside of Indiana? This involves a young child so there will be years of potential updates required and neither the father nor I reside in Indiana.

I think 21 is a little drastic. One can go to Iraq to fight for the US, vote on the leader of our country, smoke, chew tobacco, and hire a prostitute, but they can't have a beer? What do you think the drinking age should be? At what age do you think people should start going to alcohol related parties?

A Georgia judge ordered the release Monday of a man sentenced to 10 years in prison for having consensual oral sex with a 15-year-old girl when he was 17.

The judge threw out Genarlow Wilson's previous sentence and amended it to misdemeanor aggravated child molestation with a 12-month sentence, plus credit for time served. Under the new ruling, he will not be required to register as a sex offender.

Wilson, now 21, has been behind bars for more than two years.

what is wrong with the people running the state of Georgia, do they actually believe a MINOR should be in prison for 10 years for consensual relations with another minor, they may have amended the law since, but the fact they plan on re pursuing this horrifying miscarraige of justice shows they are completely out of control

Johnny Sutton, the Dept of Justice prosecutor, has not been indicted for falsification of evidence or obstruction of justice though evidence exists that he is guilty of that in his prosecution of the border patrolmen that shot & wounded as known drug smuggler. To make matters worse, members of the Democratic party & G.W. Bush are stonewalling an investigation of this miscarriage of justice. WHY? Is this a deal with the government of Mexico?

Can anyone explain to me why Anthony was charged with second-degree murder? I don't know anything about any of this kind of stuff, but I can usually get it to make sense to my immature little brain. I'm not "arguing" that he shouldn't be charged, I just want to know if anyone can tell me why it was justified.

Our landlord is trying to evict us because she is saying that we have done repairs to our apartment without permission, and then we deducted the cost of those repairs with out permission. Her husband, did give us permission back in March to do the repairs, but he unfortunatley passed 3 days after the repairs were completed. The repairs were made because of safety issues, not "upgrades" that we just wanted to have. She is trying to say that since he has passed, there is no proof that he gave permission. We fired back with the same thing, since he has passed, she has no proof that he DIDN'T give permission. Our lease is verbal, as all permission has been. I am just trying to find out what the best corse of action is...hopefully someone out there can help me!

I know everyone gets their day in court.....but I as a used car dealer I have been sued over and over for the most RIDICULOUS things you have every heard of. This one tops it all. I sold a 1985 Corolla to this insane woman for $1650 over a year ago. Now she is suing me for $5000 because she never received her license sticker that I mailed to her. A replacement costs $6.30. How can people be so STUPID?

Does a person have to go through a lawyer to have a legal will made up? I don't have much, no property or anything, just personal belongings and antiques I've collected over the years that I'd like my kids to get once I'm gone.

Can I do this myself? How?

I was charged with traffiking hydrocodone after my friends mother (who is about 80 years old) dropped her prescription in my car. I have never violated the house arrest, i have been going to a rehab( court ordered), i have a job, and i live with my DAD. The state attorney has withheld the fullest punishment and i receive no breaks from them or the county courts. Is this wrong?

I married 3 years ago, will be three years this September, and I
left my wife. I have not heard from her since two years, and I want to divorce now without applying to her (I know where she lives, but do not want to tell her). I am afraid that if I tell her she will not agree, because when I left her she was badly off, and needed a lot of bills to pay, medical, and I did not feel ready for it. We actually quarreled because of this: I went on the cruise, and she thought that I'd better pay her bills. I wanted some life to live, and when I left her, she was really badly off, like nothing to eat and unpaid rent, and she could not work then.
I was not ready for such responsibility.
Can I now divorce her without paying too much in legal fees?
