Dont ye think footballers and moviestars all get paid far to much for what they do ,i mean its wrong My partner is a roofer n wot he gets paid is perthetic ,I think all people with jobs especially the one doin hard labour should get paid more than wot they do n they should drop the wages down on movie * n footbalers ,

i agree with this. people that does glamourous jobs get paid more but their work is less intense (im not sayin it's not hard) but their type of work has to do with looks.

See...the thing is...the general public are essentially the people who in a round about way pay the salaries of these people. Sad but true. In order for them to not be paid, or paid so much, people would have to stop watching their movies, buying products they endorse, don't watch the sporting events (especially not attending sporting events), don't buy the merchandise. Refuse to pay anymore towards anything at all connected with these individuals. And have everyone else do the same thing. See...people make choices in life...some make the choices (and have the talent) to get to where they are today - multimillionaires. Of course, some, you gotta wonder how they got to where they are as they possess no talent...but still...most got to where they are through hard work and a lot of talent, and probably a lot of luck.

Dropping the wage down on footballers and movie stars are not going to make much of a difference, because they r not responsible for a paycheque of a roofer...

to think about it we get paid money we bring in, and youv'e got to admit it that if we add up all the movie and football game tickets people buy, they get paid what their owe...

The disparity between jobs of "famous" people actors, athetes etc is a disgrace, however, the percentage of the population making those insane salaries is FAR LESS than those in the more traditional occupations. If you were to take ALL pro athetes salaries and evenly distribute that money to the laborers, they would hardly notice the difference. The difference is in the constant VISIBILITY of the huge pay given to stars and such.

Capitalism does not work that way. We do not get paid by how taxing our jobs are on us. Instead we get paid by how much revenue we generate. Those movie stars generate a lot of money for a lot of people. When you say they who are "they"? If you raisee the wages of laborers you also rais the cost. Your partner should demand more money if your partner is unhappy with his salary.

They get paid what they are apparently worth to their employers. The general public is not the employer of an athelete or movie star. We are the consumers of a service provided by their employers. If you think an athelete is overpaid, don't watch. Same with movies. If enough people do this Brad Pitt will eventually get paid what I think he is worth. Not much. Until then he deserves whatever his employer thinks he is worth.

Moviestars and athletes are paid huge salaries because we normal people will pay to watch them work. As long as the owners and producers can make money, they will pay the big salaries.

This is America my dear. Lest you forget, our country allows ANYONE to go for the most amount of money ( hopefully legally) they can.
So go for it, find out how you can start your own business, get a grant to go back to school, invent something, etc......
Stop complaining, millions from around the world, risk their lives trying to get into our country, attempting for a better living than from where they came.
