If you have not been convicted of anything it will state just that , that no convictions have been found .In Ontario, Canada you can get a criminal back ground check for free if it is related to doing volunteer work.If it is job related there is a nominal fee.Contact your local police department for more information that is accurate for your area.I don't think you can get a criminal background check done just for curiosity.

There are lots of websites available online to let you know about the background check of a person but usually they aren't free or even if you get a free website for the background check then you won't find satisfactory data about him. So I recommend you http://www.criminaldetector.com/ as one of my friend's detective company usually do background checks from http://www.criminaldetector.com/ and they never had any issues with that site from the last few years. I think you should try them.

Hello, I am a retired Police Officer here in the US and I can confirm to you that these types of records, for the most part, are not available to the general public. You won't be able to obtain them for free. That's the reality of it. Even if you came into the station for a particular police report to which you have a right to possess, you are often required to pay a small fee at the clerk's counter for the paperwork. There are however, to my knowledge, just a couple LEGITIMATE services that have full access to these types of records, and OFFICIAL approval/certification to provide them. The one which comes to mind is http://www.echeck.pcti-system.com - and if I recall correctly, They do provide these records at a relatively small cost.. especially considering the highly personal, confidential, or otherwise sensitive nature of the information within. Here you will find things such as:

Reverse Phone Search
Criminal Records
Inmate Records
Sex Offenders
DUI/DWI Records
Court Records
Arrest Records
Warrant Records
Police Records
Address History
Death Index
Marital Status
Relatives and Associates
Property Records
Felonies and Convictions
Alias and Date of Birth
Business Search

http://www.echeck.pcti-system.com

The only other way to obtain this type of information is to be working in certain areas of the public sector, such as Police work. Please do not use this any information you may discover for malicious purpose, as many States do provide criminal penalties under statutory law for certain acts regarding invasion of privacy. Hope this helps.

Being working in a detective company from the last 10 years. I have been incharge of the team who used to maintain records of people who have been involved in the criminal activities/ any case again him/ divorce and many other type of records. All our records are being uploaded on http://www.criminaldetector.com/ , we are not the only company whose data is uploaded on the site but there are around 100s of companies involved with the criminal detector. So if you need to figure out the confidential details of a person that it can be easily done through it.

But to access those record you need to pay a small one time fee then only you will be able to do such things. There are lots of detective companies are currently tied up with http://www.criminaldetector.com/ and still joining.

Here is a place that has an article about free background checks - it doesn't look like many are totally free though. They also review several people search websites. Pretty cool site.

Many of the programs listed have consumer reviews, so you can read what others think of it.

Hope this helps!

The only free way would be to search your name in yahoo or google, and see if anything comes up about you, warrents and such.
