It seems awfully hypocritical, don't you think? If we really thought that nuclear weapons were a bad thing, shouldn't we set the playing field by not building any more?

Rousseau is often considered the father of Romanticism for his stress on the individual person and self-created truth. Look back over the selections from Rousseau's "Confessions." What kind of things does he seem to value? What should we be wary of in Rousseau? Does he have anything admirable about him?

I've been hanging around this one girl a lot. We do a lot of group things together. She's very popular, and gets a text or call on her cell phone like every 5 minutes. So she is constantly opening and closing her purse. When she opened her purse one time, something shiny caught my eye. I did not get a good peak at it, so I got closer and waited for her to put her phone back. I looked in, and it was a pair of handcuffs. All I could tell is that they we're not the furry ones, they were all metal. But maybe they were a toy. One of her friends comes running in and says to come here real quick. She does and forgets her purse. I looked in (did not touch anything) and they were real handcuffs, not toys at all. I walked in and gave her the purse she left. I've noticed these everytime I see her open her purse now. Last week, just me and her saw a movie. Before the movie, she went in her purse to turn off her phone, and they were there still. Why would she have them?

My Wife filed for divorce and I counter-suited due to her unfair conditions in trying to labor me with all of her debt, including what she had amassed during our past 10 month seperation. My attorney did send me my notification for my scheduled court date, but my soon to be Ex-Wife happens to work for our local Postal Service and was running the very route I lived on and I did not get my notice in the Mail and I missed court. I believe she kept it from me and broke the law, however my attorney was sharp and kept me in phone conference during the whole hearing and I won my counter-suit. Since I won do I allow what she did to get an unfair advantage in court without me being there to speak in my own behalf, should I just let it go? If not...What could I do to prove it?

If government officials and politicians are granted vast public powers and trust, shouldn't they be punished MORE then the common criminal who doesn't abuse or even have either of these things? With great power comes great responsibility, but why is there no incentive to hold these people accountable in a meaningful way? I mean, any aspiring criminal with half a brain will see getting into politics or government offices is safer, more profitable, and can be taken faaaaar father then a life of street crime.

I am buying a house in a new development in austin that everyone wants to get in, so the company held a lottery to setup a list of who would get first dibs on available lots. so i was told I drew #6, and i had a meeting with the builders, selected a lot, a basic house design, prequalified for a loan, signed the contract, and paid the earnest money. Then after arranging an appointment with the builder's designer for more specific exterior/interior colors, flooring, kitchen etc., my i get an e-mail from the builders saying they made a mistake and i was actually #126 on the list instead of #6. The e-mail said to stop payment on the earnest money check and that the builders would pay any stop payment fees and/or refund the earnest money.
Basically am i getting screwed? Is there anything we can do? I ask because we signed the contract but they builders are saying they didn't sign the contract so there is no contract. Does it make a difference that they cashed my earnest check?

I need my baby's daddy to submit a blood sample for dna testing in regaurds to paternity. My ex is in the usmc's. He lied to me and I found out not too long ago that he is married and his wife is also 7/8 weeks pregnant like me. He said he wont agree to dna testing because he doesnt want his command involved. He also promised to take care of me and he hasnt done that either. I have no job right now, and I need prenatal care and a place to live. I cant move on anything i think, until i can prove he's the father. Which we both know he is, but he trying to play hard ball. I threatened to tell his command so he went ahead and spilled the beans. And he wrote me a smart alecky email saying that he's not going to loose rank and his job in the usmc is secure. So i guess infidelity is tolerated in the armed services. But I just want what me and my baby deserve and that is to be cared for like he promised.
