Yes. Because he is still entitled to protections under the U.S. constitution until he is found guilty of a crime. The confidentiality clause ensures that he receives a fair trial. This also help the innocent. If a person is innocent but thought to be guilty by his attorney, and the attorney took it apon himself to screw his client by telling the people his client is guilty, he will not receive the fair trial he was due, and the case would get dropped. Also, he then could not be tried for the same crime twice. So he would get off on this technicality. But isn't that also why they say lawyers don't have souls.

Lawyers will defend their clients by any means "within the law". If he has reason to believe that his client is lying, is still commiting the crime, or will cause the lawyer to lie then they will have themselves forcibly removed from the case. Most lawyers will not knowingly defend a client that is fabricating lies, blatantly lying, or causing the lawyer himself to cover the lies. (although I still think lawyers are corrupt and should earn minimum wage)...................

As long as "any means" remains within the limits of ethical behavior, yes. The government has their attorney, individuals are entitled to have someone on their side that knows the rules as well.

It is what he is paid to do. I don't understand the American obsession with illegals. Do Americans as individuals need somebody to hate?
