I rented my house out to my cousin and there was no written lease just a verbal lease. Now he will not pay rent. Does a verbal lease go over well with the courts? I am in Texas. Please advise.

Given this story, is there any reason, logically speaking, for someone who supports alternative marriage rights such as gay marriage to oppose a group like this in their quest to legalize polygamy?

Would that also lead to polygamous gay marriages, with whole cadres of fellas legally going at each other in a giant orgy of manhood?

Whoowee. I'm kind of disgusting myself just typing this question.

I see numerous anti-abortionists state that it is all about personal responsibility. Isn't it then the person who's pregnant person responsibility to make a decision directly affecting her person? When you make the decision for her it becomes group responsibility.

I have been getting E-mails from this law firm saying that I have 4.6 million in inheritance comming to me and they will get 20% and they gave me documents to fill out and fax back. They gave me there number witch is in the UK and told me to call them with any questions. How do I know if this is 4 real or not? $10,000 to the best answer if this turns out to be real and I get the money. I have no bank account, so they are sending me a check. They sent me probate forms to fill out and send back by FAX and those only asked my name and how I was related to the person who passed and some other info that is not so important. They are NOT asking me for money. They are taking there 20% out then sending me a check when this is done. Can this be real? why would any one do this if not real?? also I am supossed to be interviewed by some agency of my choice to confirm this. That is my responcibility to get that done soon.

We owned our farm in Sonoma Co. for over 16 yrs.I had a predatory lender as a 2nd mortgage holder. He made over $40,000 by falsifying documents and selling it as a foreclosure sale illegally. The person who bought it evicted us!The legal system in Sonoma Co.,Calif.Has allowed these people to do this without respecting our home owner rights/human rights! We urgently need a lawyer to support us in our case and help us .Pro-bono or contingincy payment can be worked out. These are criminals guilty of extortion, usury, fraud and are still in business. The courts here have ignored us, please help!

What is the best procedure when you suspect that a family member was abused while in custody of law enforcement officers.. My cousin had some problems and was taken into custody by force... they put him in restraints and my aunt was told that they strapped him to the chair on one day and didnt allow him water, food, or bathroom privleges for three days... not taking off the restraints at all.... I need to know what my aunt's next step should be because she doesnt know what to do and its making me have no respect for law enforcement around here...

I have a friend that works for a car rental company (they'll pick you up in a car wrapped in brown paper) and depending on the location (ie. airport or normal branch) he might or might not get a lunch break. NC labor law doesn't require breaks. So he might work a 60 hour work week and get no lunch breaks. Sounds kinda sleazy and unethical to me. But this is NC and that's what they do best.

on a misdemeanor concealed weapon. I have explained his case on here before...but the main problem is he doesn't know how to present his case...the gun was registered in his name but he didn't have a license to conceal..which of course was against the law...and there are a few other things about this case...he wasn't hanging out anywhere..but instead of coming into the house to put his gun up like he normally does, he walked to the mailbox..and started chatting with some people he knew...Should he get notarized statements from people as a characther witness...or notarized statment from his job..stating things about him??

I feel really bad about it. I know it was wrong and I should have stopped but I got scared and left. I really need some advice on how to make this right. Who do I go back and give my info to? This happened in a different county than I live in. Can someone help me please?

My neighbour is shooting birds clearly for pleasure in his back garden. The other day I found a pigeon with a broken wing in my front court, called RSPCA, who collected it. Today there is a dead pigeon in my back garden. Not to mention that both my wife and I are frightened when he pulls the trigger. I would like to know what rights does he have regarding shooting birds in his back garden? I fully condemn killing any animals for pleasure but I know there are certain birds that can be shot legally but also some circumstances should be met regarding safety. Also, I'm sure he is not a professional, sometimes under the influence of alcohol, he just doesn't shoot properly and the poor animal suffers from injury. I don't want to spark a row with him because I want to live here for a couple of more years and knowing his intelligence level, I'm not sure I can properly approach him. Thanks in advance for any advice.
