Call your insurance carrier and see if they have any advice. Check with the local cops and ask if a report was filed. Pat a notice in the local newspaper but don't describe either vehicle, your address/phone number, or where it happened. Get a new email ID to use for correspondence for this.

Call either the town police or county sheriff where the incident occurred. For all you know, someone saw you do it and gave your tag number to the cops, it would look much better if you turned yourself in instead of waiting for them to come get you. Besides, it's the right thing to do.
