My nephew is only 4 months old. From day one my parents have not had a day without caring for him.
My sister took care of him for about a month before "ditching" him on my parents. My brother-in-law "checks up" on him every now and then. This started while they were living with me and my parents still. But now my parents are the sole caretakers of him.
My parents get my nephew everything from baby formula to diapers to blankets and so on. I myself find time out of the 4 hours I'm awake at home to do what I can, but his parents don't seem to even care. I know my parents love my nephew as do I. And now my sister wants to take him away to Arizona with her boyfriend. (She and my brother-in-law are separated now.)
I really need some professional advice on how to help my parents get custody of him, even if I have to do all the paperwork in my name.
If it helps I live in the state of Texas where I know some laws are different than in other states.

Is there a word for basing laws upon opinion and/or religion of the ones creating it and/or the people (example; abortion [primarily religion], gay rights [marriage {mostly religion}], premarital sex [religion], music rating [Parental advisory {sticker} label warning {primarily opinion}], limited free speech [no expression of hatred {equivalent upon religion and opinion}], etc...). Could someone please give me this word???

Our legal system is too passive. I say if someone drinks and drives, especially being a public figure, and then disregards their probation, they need to be locked up for much more than 45 days. It's no wonder there are so many twisted minded fools in our country. We get away with too many privileges, which I'm happy for, but dude if you break the law you must face the consequences. She should be locked up for like a year. Anyone else agree?

Sometimes i wonder do we as american citizen really excersise our bill of rights as american or are there certain rules and regulations that we have to follow by. If so then what does it really mean to have freedom to voice our thoughts and ideas, wether it be in the new, the press or even over the internet? I sometimes wonder what would our forfather of this country would say if they saw or heard what was going on today and would they have given their life for the things that they have seen today.

The Solomons separated, and a custody dispute arose over their eight-year-old son, Arnold. The mother lived in an apartment and earned a minimum wage working as a server at night in a licensed restaurant. The father had some drinking problems but was working steadily and was willing to pay a neighbour to prepare lunch for Arnold.

In this case if i were the judge I would rule that the parents receive joint-custody and a split schedule but I don't know what the basis for this decision could be? any suggestions?

So basically, Steph (random name) was at Molly's (random name) party. Molly was 21 and used her house for the party but didn't supply any of the alcohol - someone else bought it. Steph, a minor (Molly thought Steph was 21), was at the party and got really drunk and high. Later, Steph went to a restaurant with some other friends, was there for an hour or so, then wondered off. She later died of exposure to the extreme cold. Now Molly is on trial for homicide. Remember, Molly thought that everyone at her party was 21+ and, when Steph died, she wasn't on or leaving Molly's property. Can anyone give me a court's ruling on similar case where the jury found the defendant, is this case Molly, not guilty? Cite your source please.

I just bought a house. There were five doors missing in the house so in the contract we stated that the doors needed to be replaced. He agreed to that contract. When we did the final inspection we found that all the doors were still missing. When our realtor contacted his realtor we found out that he had no intention of putting doors in because he had another buyer willing to pay more and wanted us to back out of the contract. The deal was too good for us to back out so we went through with it despite missing the doors. Now I want to know if I hire someone to install the doors, can I take the previous owner to court for the cost of the doors and installation? And should I get a lawyer for something that will probably only cost about $500?

I've got an idea for a funny bumper sticker. It is just an incomplete sentence.

Is there anyway to stop Joe Anybody from seeing my idea and copying it. In other words, could he just make his own bumper sticker, with my saying, and sell it himself?

I am just a regular middle class guy, so if any answers involve bucks on lawyers or anything, could you state so in your answer?

Thanks a lot everyone!

This person had a dagger, and threatened to 'chop' my son up with it. He shouted threats and obscenities to our whole family. We applied for a restraining order (as the cops said to do), but the judge said we needed to have a hearing. Now, the person moved. On one hand, we should be glad, and call it off--but on the other hand, HE still knows where WE live. Advice?

Seven months ago I was pulled over, I recieved a ticket for possesion of Alcohol by a minor in a motorized vehicle. I called my local police department to see what I had to do. They told me that my license would be suspended for a 150 day period, and if I wanted to avoid this I would have to go to driving school and pay a 180 dollar fine. I paid the ticket, and went to driving school. I called the police station on two seperate occasions to make sure I wouldn't get the 150 day suspension. They told me that I was that I complied with the ticket, and it was all over. Today! 7 months later, I recieved a notice that my license will be suspended on May 30. I plan on fighting it. I wanted to know if I have a chance of winning?
and also if they can wait that long to send me a legal notice of that sort is that legal? and any other helpful infomation that you can give, thankyou.

I MYSELF AM NOT A PARIS HILTON FAN. I DON'T AGREE WITH THE WAY SHE CARRIES HERSELF, AND SHE IS NOT A GOOD INFLUENCE ON OUR YOUNG GIRLS. BUT THAT IS BESIDE THE POINT. THE QUESTION IS-SHOULD PARIS HILTON SERVE JAIL TIME? I DO BELIEVE THAT IF YOUR GOING TO BREAK THE LAW YOU SHOULD SERVE TIME FOR IT. I DON'T CARE IF YOUR RICH AND FAMOUS, JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE MONEY DOESN'T MAKE ANY ONE PERSON BETTER THAN THE NEXT. IF YOU DO THE CRIME DO THE TIME. SO THEY SAY. IF IT WERE ME AND SOME OTHER PERSON, DO YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE THEY WOULD TURN THE OTHER CHEEK? NOW BE HONEST WITH THIS QUESTION. YOU CAN STILL BE HEAD OVER HILLS FOR PARIS HILTON, BUT YOU CAN ALSO DISAGREE WITH HER ACTIONS. IF GOVENOR SCHWARZENEGGER GETS INVOLVED AND SAVES HER FROM GOING TO JAIL, IN MY OPINION HE IS NO BETTER THAN SHE IS.

Ok everyone, I have a major problem. I was let go from my job after I gave birth to my twin girls. My employer sent me a letter stating that they needed to fill my position and that my dept only needed one person. I was granted umemployment. Then I filed a discrimination lawsuit against my employer. Then they offered me my job back because they said firing me "was a error" they only offered me my job back because they are in trouble with work force development. I had to refile unemployment after 3 months because I had an open claim from last year. Then I get a letter from unemployment saying they need to interview me because my employer stated I "abandoned my job" My question is can I still get unemployment even though they gave me my job back. Or can I argue that I have a discrimination lawsuit against them and that I shouldnt have to go back to work there? My mom thinks that because I have a termination letter, they cannot just give me my job back. my employer didnt fight the 1st tim

I moved to Las Vegas a year & a half ago from Texas. I am legally blind and have been a diabetic for the past 4-years. I work live most people do and do not receive any government assistance for my disability.

When I finally found a doctor that would accept me, that I liked & that was close to my home, I made sure that he knew I did not have any insurance and that I would be paying him in cash for his services. He understood & accepted me as his patient, gave me a check-up, I paid the bill in full, got my meds and went on my way.

Well, I called him today to get a re-fill on my meds and some blood work done as he had asked me to do when my meds were about to run out. Without notice or an explanation, his receptionist told me that, I could not see my doctor, as they no longer accept patients that don’t have insurance. Am I missing something here? I’m not a new patient; my bill was paid in full from last years visit, I never ask for a discount. Do you think that was right?

I'm not married to my baby's father, and my baby isn't born yet but I'm wondering if I can claim child support before the baby is born (in case he leaves/runs away from the situation) or are there any legal documents I can get him to sign that says he is the babys father?

Do I have to actually go to court or is there any easier way out of this? I am still with my boyfriend but we've been having problems and I'm afraid it could result in something I don't want so I want to be able to get some of this out of the way early.

Is there anything I can do to be safe and make sure he does what he has to do?

This is my first child and I have no idea what to do legality wise, detailed help would be much appreciated.

I never really understood this. When you are driving without your liscense (you left it at home/lost it ect.) the fine is 180$. The fine for speeding is 85$. When you speed, you put other people's lives in danger (and yours). When you drive safely without your driver's liscense, even though the cops can check the liscense in the cop car computer, you are fined more than double of what speeding is.
