This person had a dagger, and threatened to 'chop' my son up with it. He shouted threats and obscenities to our whole family. We applied for a restraining order (as the cops said to do), but the judge said we needed to have a hearing. Now, the person moved. On one hand, we should be glad, and call it off--but on the other hand, HE still knows where WE live. Advice?

It seems like a good idea to get a restraining order against this clown anyway, even though he's moved. It'll keep him out of your hair, and it'll also go on his record, which seems fair given the things he said to your family.

If you decide to abandon the process, though, make sure you go to the courthouse and cancel the hearing. Most courts can hold you in contempt if you just don't show up, and that might cause problems if you ever need to use the legal system again.

I stay in North Carolina and became into at a acquaintances domicile, wasn't even a occasion in basic terms some human beings looking at a movie. Admittedly we had the quantity cranked too extreme. It wasn't my money so no rely if any of that became into respectable or if it became into in basic terms a workaround to guard a citizen who stated because it in i don't know. seems unusual which you will possibly choose a signature even with the incontrovertible fact that.

You should still go to court to get it on record that this guy is a weirdo, and hopefully some legal action will be taken against him. You don't want him harassing others like this and getting away with it. And you definitely don't want him acting on his threats. If you back down he may think he can do whatever he wants.

File a case of grave threats under the Criminal Law against your neighbor in order that he will know that you are serious to prevent him from threatening you agains.

Keep the court date! You don't know if he'll be back. If you see him call the police and don't let up. He's threatened you and your family so don't stop until he's dead or you're sure you're safe.
