Sometimes i wonder do we as american citizen really excersise our bill of rights as american or are there certain rules and regulations that we have to follow by. If so then what does it really mean to have freedom to voice our thoughts and ideas, wether it be in the new, the press or even over the internet? I sometimes wonder what would our forfather of this country would say if they saw or heard what was going on today and would they have given their life for the things that they have seen today.

Wow, another American awakening. I agree 100% with you...you are on the right track...keep going you will find a lot of truth asking yourself questions and questioning the "rules". The whole constitution is used by people that know how to use it...its not made for the people like me or you :)
Ever seen the movie "All the presidents men"?

you have the freedom to say whatever you want in america as long as it doesnt contain what some "moral people" claim is " bad" language, degrading language towards any ethnicity other than your own, doesnt slander america, doesnt slander the government, doesnt disagree with the zionistic goals of isreal, isnt " sexually" explicit, doesnt insight riot, doesnt insight " violence", and doesnt offend anyone. which is why free speech isnt free.

the FCC has dictated what we can and can not say. and in NYC before the war they prevented thoughsands from peacful protests. people that take against empircal goals of the state are lablled anti american and unpatriotic. in the media, sure you can publish whatever you want in a private paper or magazine, but in truth the large majority of newspapers and major media outlets are o wned by a select few, and there has been a huge degridation of the media and the inormation it presents which has further diminished democracy in america.

we have gotten to a point where things that the " moral people" claim are offensive are labeled obscene and thats just wrong; because its not a democracy unless you are continually offended by what others do and say

We all talk a lot about our freedoms as though they are open ended. We seldom talk about responsibility. We still have the right under the Constitution to air our views and peacefully assemble. There will always be people who abuse those rights and make it hard on everyone.
I have no idea what our forefathers would think of what this country has become. Probably partly amazed and party shocked. Wish we could ask them.

Apparently as long as you don't disagree with Al Sharpton. If you disagree with him, you get fired.
