Seven months ago I was pulled over, I recieved a ticket for possesion of Alcohol by a minor in a motorized vehicle. I called my local police department to see what I had to do. They told me that my license would be suspended for a 150 day period, and if I wanted to avoid this I would have to go to driving school and pay a 180 dollar fine. I paid the ticket, and went to driving school. I called the police station on two seperate occasions to make sure I wouldn't get the 150 day suspension. They told me that I was that I complied with the ticket, and it was all over. Today! 7 months later, I recieved a notice that my license will be suspended on May 30. I plan on fighting it. I wanted to know if I have a chance of winning?
and also if they can wait that long to send me a legal notice of that sort is that legal? and any other helpful infomation that you can give, thankyou.

You should definitley fight this, here's what you need: 1. a good lawyer experienced with traffic courts, and 2: Copies of ALL documentation you have received from the original citation to every court notice, driving class reciept, etc. to present to your attorney. Good Luck!

Perhaps. It depends. You need to see an attorney now. You might not be able to get your license back, but something fishy is going on. Take copies of the cancelled check (get that from your bank) for payment of the fine, and take confirmation of your attendance in the driving school to your attorney. There's more going on here. A local attorney is your best resource. Use it!

There is a mistake, which often happens in the court system and it is their bookkeeping I would guess. Fight it and goooood luck!
