If I find a graphic online that I want to make into a t-shirt on cafe press or zazzle, then sell it, what are the restrictions?

as long as you don't profit from using the graphics, you are ok.

Most graphics are Copyright, you can find just about ANYthing you like though from a site that specializes in stock art and photography. Some at a small price. But always check with the webmaster about copyrights before you use something for a profit venture, or you might just end up sending all the profits to the site you took it from. A good site for stock graphics IMHO is: http://www.crestock.com/

you can't. once an image or item is published (anywhere) it gets an automatic copyright.

the owner of the image can put an injunction against you if you use it without permission

Only Royalty Free images can be used for your commercial or personal use.
