Your SS benefit is based on your lifetime contribution and your income during your last year of employment.

Only the state income tax regulations would change your check.

First off, Social Security is not a "paycheck" and unless you're over 65 or legally blind, I hope you'll find another way to get a "paycheck" at some point in your life.

If you are on Social Security disability you can live anywhere in the world that you want. You can also get married, work, and be required to complete work training to force you back to work.

Your benefit amount would not change if you move from one state to another. If you are retired then the same applies.

People on Social Security are typically exempt from paying income tax. Oregon does have a state tax and that may or may not affect your benefits.

I think Social Security is Federal so it shouldn't make any difference which state you live in. Or maybe you're talking about a benefit program specific to Oregon?

Social security is a national program and it is based on your earnings record during the lifetime of your work. Oregon doesn't pay that...the feds do.

Are you talking of a welfare program? I can't help you on that.

Social Security is determined by the wages you earned in the last quarters of your employment. If you are on SS now it will not change no matter where you move. It's government issued.

How much he gets has nothing to do with living in Oregon. It has to do with the amount of FICA taxes paid into the system during his working life, including amounts paid in by his employer. The amounts he would be entitled to receive would be the same no matter where he lived.
