for manslaugter. They didn't purposefully kill anyone and i'm sure they feel bad anyway, so why do we punish them? Shouldn't we only punish the ones who kill with intent? Tell me your thoughts.

My Father and younger brother had secretly worked out an agreement about 10-yrs ago, the deal was/is my brother pays dad $500/mo for his 90K house he has been living there
so its Rent-To-Own, I did not initially believe this considering
my brother is known to lie alot. but the subject came up again recently in my fathers presence and he did in fact confirm such a deal was made, The problem I have is this:
1) my father has 3-Sons and only one gets 90% of his total assets.
2)The son(my younger brother) who will get the house was not subjected to a credit check, nor did he have to make a sizable
down payment on the deal, in fact no down payment!. plus
his monthly payments are probably much lower than a stranger
would ask!. what a f@!king deal!!!.
My father kind of brushed aside me and my youngest brother
in favor of the middle one ,he just happened to be there at the right time and had the opportunity to buy/inherit the family home, its his money, but is this right?

I work with a non profit school organization. We suspect one of our officers has pilfered some of the funds - because we have none. One of the other officers has suggested we contact her via the phone and record whatever she says - he is hoping for a confession - so other than my moral question of this - is it it legal to record a phone conversation - even if it's to confirm criminal activity - without that persons knowledge. Oh this is in Texas. Would appreciate any help. Thanks

A judgement was won against me for monies I owe. I have received the details through the Sherif's office at my parents house. My points are: I have not been served papers by the plaintiff and they can't find me as they don't have my address. Do I go to the court and tell them that they pretended to serve me or do I keep quiet???? The amount is $13000.

I was told after the fact that she did this so that she could push the sale thru and get her commission. I had not completely decided whether I wanted to afford the car. I was told of the "good deed" and within days I recieved a statement/bill from the finance company for the first payment...........Now I am locked into a bad running; new looking, over prices and over interest loan and she is withholding my plates for payment.
Is this legal, do I have to keep the car?

Whenever there is a riot, pitch invasion or racist abuse etc. by fans of a soccer team, the club itself is routinely penalised? Surely the club is a completely distinct legal entity from the private individuals who happen to attend its matches? So on what basis in law is the club punished?

Hi all,

I asked one of my friends to buy me something from taiwan. So i gave her $50, with nothing else.
Now, i want the money back since she didnt manage to buy for me.
I sms-ed her daily. and try calling her. But she didn't pick up nor reply. The only time she pick up was when she tell me she is busy and ask me to call back later.
The sad thing is i only have her email and HP number. She blocked me on msn.
I have another friend who she once owed money with, and she took several months to return. I can't wait that long. Who knows she might even pretend to forget.
So i am thinking of making a police report. Wouldn't want to look stupid if i can't..Thanks!

Like most people I get upset when watching the child abuse adverts on the TV and every month I donate money to the NSPCC, but are we fighting a battle that we can never win?
What happens behind closed doors can not be seen and therefore can not be stopped, when a child is found dead from years of torture and abuse theres always an interview from the neighbour or school teacher saying they thought something was not right! why didnt they report it then?? but even if they did report it the social workers dont just turn up unanounced, they phone and make an appointment, then when they get there the child is well dressed and stuffing sweets down their throats with big smiles on their faces so the social think everything is ok and leave it at that, why dont they just turn up and see the reality??
I think social workers are like the police they spend their time just catching the easy ones, like the police would rather spend their time giving out speeding fines than catching the real

I asked a simliar question and that was regarding on the time frame to sue for back child support (No time limit in California). The main question I have now is the steps to sue. I contacted a Legal Aid but they are charging me $300 dallors. I then contacted a network that collects back child support but they want 35% of the money they collect. In California the Child Support Services is flooded with cases and won't help. Do I have to hire a lawyer or can I file it on my own....

Say your driving down the road you fall asleep behind the wheel and you get into an accident but no one else was hurt can you really get in trouble? I'm not talking about if your speeding or anything your going the speed limit fall asleep and crash can you get in trouble? Also can you get in touble for speeding if you get into a bad wreck like your doing a 100 and flip your car what can you get in trouble with? And if you can get introuble if no one was hurt isn't that kind of a$$holish?I mean not only do you total your car but you've probably been seriously injured you would think they would say you've gone through enough but no they say as well as needing to pay for a new car and medical bills were going to make you pay in parking tickets and maybe through you in jail and if not were going really screw with you ever driving again.
