Can you be charged with a felony for encouraging a minor to think or do something that while may not be illegal, is against what authority figures want the child to think or do?

A felony? Depends on what it is and what you define as 'not illegal' (if you are asking the question, my guess is that your definition may differ from the authorities). But a possible 'felony' may be the least of your worries... If the person being circumvented is a parent, you could wind up with any number of other problems.

Are you serious? You mean you don't know the answer to this simple question?
Anyone who "encourages" a minor to do contrary to right thinking is a moron, imbecile, idiot or just plain evil.
If an anuthority figure tells the minor to do wrong, then he should be guided in the right way by a loving hand.
Sadly some parents don't give a care about their kids.
Being arrested shouldn't concern you, but doing what is right before God SHOULD.

Depends, for example students who might protest against raised tuition or teacher pay cuts. The authorities - school board, might not like that. This is a completely different situation than a crime.

No, not unless it is with butral force or you are MAKING them do something illegal.

If you give them the means to do something illegal, then yes, you may be held responsible, depending on the serverity of the crime committed.

No..the only crimes you can be charged with for inducing a minor are providing a minor alcohol, drugs, or smoking before they are allowed.

Whether it is illegal or not it is very morally wrong.
