I live in Dayton TN. . Here's the deal. This white woman named June Griffin is totally against Mexicans being here. She went into a Mexican owned and operated store in town harassing the clerk, who couldn't speak much if any english. She ranted and raved and told him that if he couldn't speak english he should go back to Mexico. She yanked down the mexican flag hanging in the store, damaged the door to the store on her way out, and took the flag home and wrote "remember the Alamo" on it. She then contacted the newspaper for a picture of her holding the flag, and article. She also somehow obtained the man' s cell phone number and called and left messages on his phone. When it came time for court, the witness to the crime could not be found and the case was dismissed. How in the world can you committ a civil rights crime, admit to it, and have it dismissed because the witness could not be found? Is that really legal.

When Christmas rolls around you see thousands of ads of merchandise being sold sometimes 10x the actual market price and there are never criminal prosecutions of those transaction but Sporting and Entertainment tickets are place into a special category and considered criminal if you try and sell above their face value in many States. Many believe its to protect the state and local tax revenue but when doesn't paying your local or state taxes become criminal? they place liens on homeowners or garnish future returns, wages but they do not arrest you or many business owners, politicians would be in jail.

I Have been on probation since June 2005. My first probation officer was wonderful. I felt like I could talk to him about anything. In Feburary this year i got a call that he was no longer my officer and that I was getting a new one. I met my new one the first week of Feb. He is nothing like my other one. One night at 11:00 he called my house while I was in the shower and left a message. I called the only number I have when I got out of the shower, which is the office number and I left a message. The following day he called asking where I was and I told him. I also told him that I was in the process of moving due to our landlords selling the house we were renting. He asked where and I gave him the address and he said it was ok since it was still in the same area. Today(march 25) he showed up at my house telling me i never told him i was moving and he put me on a curfew. Now i have to go to a meeting with him and someone else tomarrow. Can I request a different officer?

In the town where I live I have heard the almost unbelievable story many times from different women.

The women say that the police kept ticketing them while they were driving. Their fines ended up so high, that the only way they could pay them off is to work for Catholic Charities.

Please don't think I mean anything against Catholic's to tell you this. They may be more of a victim in this as well, somehow.

One of the victim's of this also told me the police went as far as to tell her she would never see her license again if she did not cooperate.

She has worked all her life and finally retired, but now she is a volunteer, she figures for the rest of her life.

All of these women seem to share at least one trait in common. They all live in assisted public housing.

They also claim this happened from many little nuisance charges that added up.

In other words, they were all basically innocent of any big accident or event. What can they do?

how do you feel about this

DALTON, Georgia (AP) -- A former 911 operator was convicted Saturday of murdering her boyfriend by poisoning him with antifreeze.

Lynn Turner could face a death sentence in the 2001 killing of Randy Thompson, a Forsyth County firefighter and the father of her two children. The same jury that convicted her must decide whether to impose that sentence.

She is already serving a life sentence for the 1995 death of her husband, Glenn Turner, a Cobb County police officer. The murder charge in Thompson's death was filed after that 2004 conviction.

The trial went to the jury Saturday morning following closing arguments on Friday.

Turner, who had maintained her innocence in both cases, did not testify in either trial.

In closing arguments Friday, District Attorney Penny Penn said the motive in both cases was Turner's greed for the victims' life insurance money.

Lawyers for Turner, 38, rested their case earlier Friday after a defense toxicologist testified that while one of the victims showed signs of antifreeze poisoning the other did not, casting doubt on the prosecution theory that the deaths were similar.

Defense lawyers have argued there's no direct evidence proving murder.

Police didn't launch a criminal investigation of the deaths until a few months after Thompson died.

Prosecutors said tests on their bodies showed they were poisoned with ethylene glycol, a sweet but odorless chemical in antifreeze. During Turner's 2004 trial they suggested it could have been placed in foods such as Jell-O.

Penn said during her closing argument Friday that even though no one saw her do it, Turner was the last person with both men before they became ill and was the last person to give them anything to eat or drink.

Defense lawyer Vic Reynolds said the prosecution's evidence adds up to character assassination, not murder. "They can predict. They can assume, but that isn't the law," Reynolds said.

My sister loaned her ex-boyfriend some serious money and he won't pay her back. All he does is play games. She has threatened him with small claims court but it would just be another court case added to his list. She's to the point where she wants to destroy him for what he is doing. Any pointers?

Does life begin when an embyo becomes independant of its mother? or when the bay draws its first breathe? if so how does that affect babies that are born and are then placed on a life support system? They are independant of their Mother but cannot breathe independantly. Does that mean that they are not a legal person, and thus have no rights until they can breathe independantly? or do they gain legal status as soon as they are removed from the womb?
