In the town where I live I have heard the almost unbelievable story many times from different women.

The women say that the police kept ticketing them while they were driving. Their fines ended up so high, that the only way they could pay them off is to work for Catholic Charities.

Please don't think I mean anything against Catholic's to tell you this. They may be more of a victim in this as well, somehow.

One of the victim's of this also told me the police went as far as to tell her she would never see her license again if she did not cooperate.

She has worked all her life and finally retired, but now she is a volunteer, she figures for the rest of her life.

All of these women seem to share at least one trait in common. They all live in assisted public housing.

They also claim this happened from many little nuisance charges that added up.

In other words, they were all basically innocent of any big accident or event. What can they do?

If one chooses to live off of society, that is the price they pay.

I would say that they need to pay their debt for the things that they have done, since they have no money then this is probably the only solution, what is wrong with doing charity work anyway? It will make them better people. Some driving lessons may be in order for them too.

When I get tickets for little things, I pay them. period.

When I was younger I had to do "community service" and I just did it.

Sometimes we juts have to do what we have to do. Too bad these women cant see that instead of just paying these little fines they are actually helping others.
