I Have been on probation since June 2005. My first probation officer was wonderful. I felt like I could talk to him about anything. In Feburary this year i got a call that he was no longer my officer and that I was getting a new one. I met my new one the first week of Feb. He is nothing like my other one. One night at 11:00 he called my house while I was in the shower and left a message. I called the only number I have when I got out of the shower, which is the office number and I left a message. The following day he called asking where I was and I told him. I also told him that I was in the process of moving due to our landlords selling the house we were renting. He asked where and I gave him the address and he said it was ok since it was still in the same area. Today(march 25) he showed up at my house telling me i never told him i was moving and he put me on a curfew. Now i have to go to a meeting with him and someone else tomarrow. Can I request a different officer?

It should be easy enough to prove that you made the call to the office, they have to keep all that stuff, and even if they don't, you can get phone records. That would establish your honesty... Yes, you can request a new officer, citing you feel you are being harassed. I would also bring in the former PO to show you have no problems establishing relationships. You might not "get" a new PO, but you can sure ask. In the meantime, walk the straight and narrow!

You can, but it does not mean they will give you one, most have 100's of people they watch over.

And of course if you ask and don't get one, thie one may just be worst, and if you do, the one you get may decide to teach you a lesson about asking. So you take the risk of making it worst always.
