A few months ago, my husband and I took our 2 year old daughter to the local ER. Because we couldn't get a sitter,
we brought our 3 year old, as well. The registration desk only asked my husband to sign our daughter in. He did. Normally, that wouldn't have been a problem. However, the hospital did not record any of the information off our insurance cards. So,
several bills arrived in my daughter's name. I opened them and called the places to provide them with insurance info.
They wouldn't even talk to me or take the information to bill
the insurance because I wasn't my daughter. I explained that she is only 2 and a half years old. They still wouldn't do anything because of the HEPA Law. I went back there and showed them her birth certificate and my photo id and the insurace info, still they said they couldn't discuss anything with me. Ideas or advice on what to do, please?

I have been living in a basement in San Francisco, CA for almost 3 years. My landlord says his relative are moving in to my basement and he asks me to find another place. I pay bills and rents on time every month, and I keep the place very clean. I like living in this neighborhood becaue people are nice and friendly. Can I get any indemnities since he asks me to leave? (We didn't sign any thing after the first years contract. At the beginning when I moved in, I paid the safety deposit)

I am suppose to renew my tabson my car every July. Last year I was late and received a citation for expired tabs. I went in and got new tabs right away and set up an appointment that same day to attempt to lower my fine. Whe I spoke iwth someone, I asked to have the amount lowered because I couldn't afford to pay the whole amount at that time. The denied my request, so I had to wait until I had the money.

I DID end up paying my fine. I wrote a check and made sure it cleared my account before I threw out the notice. On the notice, it said I may incur extra fees and have my license suspended if I didn't pay by the due date, but I did not receive any additional notices confirming my license was actually suspended.

Over the weekend, I was stopped while entering the parking lot of my apartment building, which is how I found out.

Knowing this, does it sound like I have a chance that this will be dismissed? The reason I'm conerned is because it will cause a misdomeanor on my name..

I've always heard that gun owners are more likely to have their guns used on themselves, or a loved one than on some burglar coming to rob their houses.

Work with agencies in the area, I know that just because someone pays you for the design work, the copyright isn't transfered to them unless they pay for the copyright. This is true for websites. Where can if find solid information about the legal issues surrounding this?

for the sole purpose of selling it off bit by bit and terminating every employee, simply because the company's customer service was rude to him when he called to ask what time they opened? What about if he was fired from a custodial position with the company. Payback's a pain, huh?

Oh, wait. What if he were fired from a different company due to his reaction to sexual harrassment against him by another employee... could he track that other employee down time after time so he could buy the company she worked for then have her fired from every job she has for the rest of her life, thus giving her an employment record so poor that eventually no company would even hire her in the first place?

What is your legal right and how long do you have before the landlord can start eviction. The people are trying to pay and haven't been 30 days behind yet.

Hi guys! Basically I have this issue that's really bothering me. I just got into a car accident. Someone hit me in a parking lot by backing out. They didn't see me and just ran right into me. They begged me to settle this w/out the cops and I said no and called the cops (both the driver and passenger had their license suspended and no insurance). Cop came and half an hour later told me that because I was in a private parking lot, he cannot write them up for violation. Call my insurance and that was it. Does this sound right to you guys or is there something going on? Does that mean I can get a bat and smack the other guy's car w/out getting in trouble?
What should I do?

Ok, I live in Illinois and one of my family members live in Michigan. Is it illegal to take our Illinois cans and cash them in Michigan. In Michigan they are worth 10 cents each if it says it on the can. Michigan does pay the extra tax for that. So if I were to get stopped by the cops while driving to Michigan would I get in trouble? There is nothing on the can saying that you cant.

i pass worms often after a rainy shower and see them rolling abot in pain cos either they have been trodden on or have lived in an area away from water for a while and appear desperate for water. I try and give them some if i can but feel guilty about leaving them sufferng and in pain - You wouldn't walk past a stranger who was famished or had his leg broken and I realise they're not human and its difficult to help every1 and everything but I'm a vegan and feel that I should help animals , humans and the environment when I can. I was wondering how other people feel about this...

I live in a luxury condo that is adjacent to the business distract, and a bar there has repeadily voilated both local code and nys law by throwing DJ nights, Cabaret dancing, and now have extended its premisis with outside drinking by installing a cheap fence and the noise and drunken behavior is being ingored by the police department and village officials. I want to bring suit against the village for loss of equity to our property, pain and suffering, and failure to uphold the city code which ensures all residents will be provided a high quality of life and ANY disruption of that peace and quiet will result in revocotion of any permits/license granted to business owners.

To date the village has done nothing but give the run around. At one point they blame us for moving so close to the business district, yet they approved the building of residental condos in this area to begin with.

Please help as we want to file suit asap.
