I live in Massachusetts and I need documents stating an employer cannot just give me an hour a day and that she has to give me at least 3 hours a day (which she hasn't been doing anyway.) Any other laws on her not laying me off because she doesn't want to pay unemployment would helpful too. I was fulltime before this and because there isn't work for me to do my hours have gone down steadily since end of Jan. Just today she told me to come in for just an hour a day....which is an unreasonable reporting requirement considering I have to drive at least 15 miles to get there. She told me to resign or work the 1 hour a day shift and she will not lay me off. I need this info so I can call my office manager tomorrow and let her know I will be reporting them to the attorney general if they do not meet proper hour/wage requirements.

It appears that atheists are being selectively banned from YouTube/Google for vague reasons while other religious groups seem not to be targeted. Assuming this behavior could be shown to be true and given YouTube/Google's status as a news aggregator, could this be in violation of any US Law?

Is this typical Democratic behavior keeping a man in office who has proven of taking a bribe and standing beside him.

Why do the Democrats not demand his resignation?

In a 95-page affidavit used to obtain a warrant for the office search, investigators stated that an August 2005 search of Democratic Rep. William Jefferson's home turned up the cash sum in a freezer.

The money was divided among various frozen food containers, according to the heavily redacted affidavit

Besm Allah (In the name of Allah)

While it is true that amongst the good things God promised men who believe and do good works, there will be virgins, but the issue of 72 virgins for one man is ridiculous and unfounded in Islam, someone rightly stated on this forum that “sounds more like hell to me”.

I want to put to rest the issue of suicide bombers and 72 virgins through this article and I hope that it will be so. So let’s see if the suicide bombers are truly entitled to these 72 virgins which the non Muslims gladly propagate.

Let’s begin with the Qur’anic verses that mentioned virgins:

“And (with them will be) their spouses, raised high:

For, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed,

Having resurrected them as virgins

Full of love, well matched, with those WHO HAVE ATTAINED TO RIGHTEOUSNESS” Q56:34-37

“And beside them there will be bashful, dark big beautiful eyed virgins” Q37:48

“Therein will be bashful virgins, whom neither any man nor jinn has touched before” Q55:56

“In each of them will be chaste and beautiful virgins.” Q55:70

“….as a reward for their GOOD DEEDS that they had done” Q56:24

From the verses, we now know that virgins are promised men WHO HAVE ATTAINED RIGHTEOUSNESS AS A REWARD FOR THEIR GOOD DEEDS. THE NUMBERS ARE NOT MENTIONED PER MAN, COULD BE ONE. ANYWAY, THIS WILL PUT TO REST THE ISSUE OF 72 PER MAN.

Let’s now look at if suicide bombing amounts to a good deed in Islam as to entitle them to these virgins.

Allah said: “…do not kill (or destroy) yourselves: for verily Allah hath
been to you Most Merciful.” Q4:29

Narrated Thabit bin Ad Dahhak
The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, "Whoever intentionally
swears falsely by a religion other than Islam, then he is
what he has said, (e.g. if he says, 'If such thing is not
true then I am a Jew,' he is really a Jew). And whoever
commits suicide with piece of iron (or any worldly thing) will be punished
with the same piece of iron (or any worldly thing with which he killed himself) in the Hell Fire." Narrated Jundab the Prophet said, "A man was inflicted with
wounds and he committed suicide, and so Allah said:
My slave has caused death on himself hurriedly, so I
forbid Paradise for him."
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith: Vol. 2 No. 445

Narrated Abu Huraira
The Prophet said, "He who commits suicide by
throttling shall keep on throttling himself in the Hell Fire
(forever) and he who commits suicide by stabbing
himself shall keep on stabbing himself in the Hell-Fire."
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith: Vol. 2 No. 446

Narrated Abu Huraira
We were in the company of Allah's Apostle in a ghazwa,
and he remarked about a man who claimed to be a
Muslim, saying, "This (man) is from the people of the
(Hell) Fire." When the battle started, the man fought
violently till he got wounded. Somebody said, "O Allah's
Apostle! The man whom you described as being from
the people of the (Hell) Fire fought violently today and
died." The Prophet said, "He will go to the (Hell) Fire."
Some people were on the point of doubting (the truth of
what the Prophet had said) while they were in this
state, suddenly someone said that he was still alive but
severely wounded. When night fell, he lost patience and
committed suicide. The Prophet was informed of that,
and he said, "Allah is Greater! I testify that I am Allah's
Slave and His Apostle." Then he ordered Bilal to
announce amongst the people: "None will enter
Paradise but a Muslim, and Allah may support this
religion (i.e. Islam) even with a disobedient man."
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith: Vol. 4 No. 297

Ahmad said: "We know of no cases where the
Prophet, peace be upon him, refused to
offer funeral prayer for any one EXCEPT in
cases of one convicted of embezzlement
(of zakat funds) AND A PERSON WHO
COMMITTED SUICIDE."
Fiqh-us-Sunnah Vol. 4 No. 9

The above authorities are few amongst those which clearly forbid suicide in Islam, SO SUICIDE IS FORBIDDEN AND NOT CONSIDERED AS A GOOD DEED IN ISLAM THIS DISQUALIFIES THEM FROM ANY FAVORS OF ALLAH .

WHAT ABOUT THOSE THEY KILL ALONGSIDE WITH THEM? WHAT DOES THEIR ACTION AMOUNT TO? ISLAM TELLS US THAT THEY HAVE COMMITTED INTENTIONAL MURDER BECAUSE THE PEOPLE THEY KILL ARE INNOCENT, IT IS A GREAT SIN, BE IT AGAINST MUSLIMS OR NON MUSLIMS AND IF THEY (THE SUICIDE BOMBERS) HAVE SURVIVED IT, THEIR PUNISHMENT WILL BE EXECUTION.

“…whoever kills a person, except
as a punishment for murder or mischief in the land,
it will be written in his book of deeds as if he had
killed all the human beings on the surface of the
Earth and whoever will save a life shall be regarded
as if he gave life to all the human beings on the
surface of the Earth. Yet, even though Our Rasools (Messengers)
came to them one after the other with clear
revelations, it was not long before, many of them
committed excesses in the land.” Q5:32

Narrated Anas bin Malik
The Prophet said, "The biggest of Al-Kaba'ir (the great
sins) are (1) to join others as partners in worship with
Allah, (2) to murder a human being, (3) to be
undutiful to one's parents (4) and to make a false
statement," or said, "to give a false witness."
Sahih Al Bukhari vol. 9 no. 10

Narrated Ikrima from Ibn Abbas
Allah's Apostle said, "When a slave (of Allah) commits
illegal sexual intercourse, he is not a believer at the
time of committing it; and if he steals, he is not a
believer at the time of stealing; and if he drinks an
alcoholic drink, when he is not a believer at the time of
drinking it; and he is not a believer when he commits a
murder." 'Ikrima said: I asked Ibn Abbas, "How is
faith taken away from him?" He said, "Like this," by
clasping his hands and then separating them, and
added, "But if he repents, faith returns to him like this,"
by clasping his hands again.
Sahih Al Bukhari vol. 8 no. 800B

I will now conclude with opinions of Islamic scholars of the highest eminence on the matter:

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE RULING REGARDING ACTS OF JIHAD BY MEANS OF SUICIDE, SUCH AS ATTACHING EXPLOSIVES TO A CAR AND STORMING THE ENEMY, WHEREBY THE PERSON KNOWS WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT HE SHALL DIE AS A RESULT OF THIS ACTION?

ANSWER: Indeed, my opinion is that he is regarded as one who has killed himself (committed suicide), and as a result, he shall be punished in Hell, for that which is authenticated on the authority of the Prophet (S.A.W.), “Indeed, whoever (intentionally) kills himself, then certainly he will be punished in the Fire of Hell, wherein he shall dwell forever” (Bukhari & Muslim). However, one who is ignorant and does not know, and assumes his action was good and pleasing to Allah (S.W.T.), then we hope Allah forgives him for that which he did out of (ignorant) ijtihad (self-reasoning), even though I do not find any excuse for him in the present day. This is because this type of suicide is well known and widespread amongst the people of knowledge (scholars) regarding it, until the right guidance for him is differentiated from the error.

And from that which is surprising, is that these people kill themselves despite Allah having forbidden this, as He says: “And do not kill yourselves, surely, Allah is Most Merciful to you” (Q4(an-Nisa):29). And many amongst them do not desire anything except revenge of the enemy, by whatever means, be it halaal (permissible) or haram (forbidden). So they only want to satisfy their thirst for revenge. We ask Allah (S.W.T.) to bless us with foresight in His Deen and action(s) which please Him, indeed, He is All Powerful over all things. (Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (RAH) (Kayfa Nu’aalij Waaqi’unaa al-Aleem-page 119).

Elsewhere, Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen (RAH) said in his explanation of Riyadus-Saaliheen (1/165-166)…But as for what some people do regarding activities of suicide, tying explosives to themselves and then approaching unbelievers and detonating them amongst them, then this is a case of suicide and Allah’s refuge is sought. So whoever commits suicide then he will be condemned eternally to Hell-Fire, remaining there forever, as occurs in the Hadith of the Prophet (S.A.W.): “And whoever kills himself with an iron weapon then the iron weapon will remain in his hand, and he will continuously stab himself in his belly with it in the Fire of Hell eternally, forever and ever”. (Muslim)

Because this person has killed himself and has not benefited Islam. So if he kills himself along with ten, or a hundred or two hundred other people, then Islam will not benefit by that, since the people will not accept Islam. Rather, this action will provoke malice and bitterness in their hearts to such an extent that they may seek to wreck havoc upon the Muslims. This is what is found from the practice of the Jews with the people of Palestine so when one of the Palestinian blows himself up and kill six or seven people, then in retaliation, they take sixty or more. So this does not produce any benefit for the Muslims, and does not benefit those amongst whose ranks explosives are detonated.
So what we hold is that those people who perform these suicide (bombings) have wrongfully committed suicide, and that this necessitates entry into Hell-Fire, and Allah’s refuge is sought and that this person is not a martyr (shaheed) because he has not taken the path of martyrdom.

Therefore we say to the Muslim Youth, “Protect your lives, on the condition that you (use it) in learning your Deen and your Islam. Become acquainted with it properly and act according to it to the best of your abilities.” This course of action and deed, slow and tedious as it may seem, is the deed that shall bear the desired fruit that is sought after by all Muslims, regardless of their varying ideologies and methodologies. All are in agreement that Islam should be what (we use) to govern, but they dispute in the path (to that objective). Surely, the best guidance is that of Muhammad (S.A.W.).

Peace and love to you all. http://www.islamfortoday.com/firestone01.htm

Recently i slipped and fell on private property, i banged my head hard, this was 2 weeks ago, i now have diagnosed concussion.
I cannot work as i am getting dizzy spells, and headaches, and feel very weak.
I had a CT scan, it was normal but the dr said it could be some time before i feel well enough to return to work.
The property management have already accepted liablity as they should have salted the snow and have offered to pay my wages and any other medical costs.
Also they said they would settle a compensation claim for the concussion.
Currently they are seeking my medical history, i have spoken also to a lawyer who says i do have a case.
Property management have said i can settle now or wait until i feel better, i said i will wait.
Does anybody know roughly how much compensation one should expect? At this point i don't want to sign for anything even with lawyer.
Maybe somebody reading this knows of somebody who was compensated for mild concussion? If so can you tell me?

Presently I work part-time for an employer. While technically a part-time employee, I usually work 35 - 50 hours a week. Generally we are so busy I don't have time to take a break. I'm well aware that the option is there for me to do so, but do not take one. I would much rather work through the day as it makes things go much faster, and by not taking one I avoid work piling up on me.

Recently however, my hours have been drastically cut down to six hours a day, five days a week (total of 30 hours a week). On top of this I have been told I MUST take a mandatory 1 hour break everyday further lowering my hours to 5 a day. I'm well aware that federal and state law tells an employer that they must give an employee breaks, but what about this obvious misuse? Is there anything to prevent an employer from forcing an employee to have excessive break time merely to keep them in their place of business for more hours?

Nancy Pelosi and her team are crying foul over the firings of eight U.S. federal attorneys.

But the hard truth is this: federal prosecutors serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States. It is perfectly legal for him to fire any - or all - of the U.S. attorneys for any reason at all.

In March of 1993, the Clinton administration fired all 93 federal prosecutors with absolutely no fanfare. No controversy. No congressional subpoenas or public hearings.

But the House of Representatives - and now a Senate panel as well - have issued the ''OK'' for subpoenas of key aides to the President.
