my 68 yr old dad was up on a distant family members home, cleaning the gutters with a blower, while they and his "new companion" boozed it up inside. The ladder fell over, that they heard and came outside to put it back up against the house, a short time later, they heard it again, but it was my dad, all alone and bleeding from his head and out his ears on the cement with the ladder on top of him. His autopsy took 5 months to complete, investigating the head injuries. I don't want to sue anybody, just want to know if there's anything else I should be doing..I had the most rockin' dad a girl could be blessed w/....and he didn't have to die, but he did and all alone since the 3 adults inside didn't have the common sense to hang outside, just incase-u never kno'! Are my brother and I gonna just have to let it go or are we missing anything...Thank you

Girl, my heart and hugs go out to you. When a dad is loved, like it is clear that you do, it can be so hard to accept. And it is normal to WANT TO FIND some thing or person, to be at fault. I can't see it from what you post... a person 68 yrs old, has to have known that it was a risk, to be doing this at his age. But (as I well know at my age, 58).. this is a hard thing for many people to accept. I am not as young as I was, and I darn sure can't do what I used to do.
We all are going to leave this world..and none of us can know for sure, when that will be. This includes the sudden death of my friends 57 yr old hubby, of a massive stroke. My heart just doesn't want to accept it.
Live each day to the fullest and with as much love for others as you can.

Thats terrible im sorry for your loss. Was he working at the time? If so it is a workers comp case. Was he pushed off? Was the roof faulty in some way, was it broken? If he just fell on his own will or becase he slipped ona perfectly good roof and wasnt at work than unfortunately no one is liable.

I'm so sorry to hear about that. My condolences...
Re your question...
It depends - who's roof?
Why was he on it?
Was he working for someone at the time?
Were safety precautions in place?
Was he following them?

Well I don't think so, unless it's due to someone pushing him off or a faulty roof...
