This soldier did what seemed OK to him. I'm sure he fought for his country.

His death drew worldwide attention in part because he had turned down a multimillion-dollar contract to play defensive back for the Arizona Cardinals in order to join the Army Rangers after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

No matter what people think of this war, give this guy the respect he deserve !

Every American soldier serving is a hero, and Tilman's death was not without honor, he died serving his country.

Dislike the war if you like - hell protest for all I care, but do not dishonor the role of the soldiers serving our country or the memory of those who have died.

That is a slap in the face to the man that he was, the soldier that he was, and to his family that is still here. He served his country so that idiots like you have the right to make idiotic statements like that.

This soldier was not popular because he voiced his opinion of the war, especially afer being there and witnessing the total incorrectness of it.

Many intelligent people can see that what the US is fighting for there should be handled by diplomacy NOT FORCE. The Industrial Military scene has much influence on this adm. It's too bad the voices of the Generals won't be aired that keep saying the war is not the way to handle the situation. More & more troops want OUT of the meat grinder.

What about the threat here-none? I've heard Chernov say plus others in govt there are only 'a few' terrorists floating around in US. Well look up: The Muslim Brotherhood, the PROJECT and find the real truth. Homeland Security--not. Terrorists are paying Mex MS-15 $25000-30000 to get them across the border. Will everyone be ready?

Look, I'm not a fan of the Iraq war, but I certainly wouldn't call Tillman stupid. He knew the risks, as all soldiers do. Friendly fire is an unfortunate part of war that has always been around, but that does not mean victims of it died in vain. They only die in vain when nothing is learned from their deaths or when it is swept under the rug.

No person should be condemmed for joining the armed forces. They are the ones that protect this country. I served proudly for 10 years. I was involved with the first desert storm. It isn't the fault of the service members that their leaders put them in harm's way. What they are doing is noble. War time, sad to say, does come with its risks. Friendly fire just happens to be one of them. In EVERY war, men and women have died by friendly fire. A lot of confusion, a lot of bullets flying. It happens. But, to say they died with no honor is wrong. They died in service of their country. You don't get a higher honor than that.

People do not join the Army to fight for oil. People joing the Army (and the military in general) because to serve stands for something much greater than any one of us. It is out of a sense of duty and selfless service. We don't get to choose the war we eare sent to fight in.

No, I blame the terrorists. Bush is only doing what he should and so are the soldiers who are fighting for liberty and basic human rights. No soldier doing his job dies without honor. Shame on your for even saying that.

Its a war. People die in wars. Good people die in wars. Good people die in wars from friendly fire. It happens in all of them.

Including WW2.

Tillman knew what he was getting into, and gave his life the way he wanted, fighting for freedom.
