I am doing a report so i'm taking a poll. Are u for or agaisnt the testing on animals.

Do you volunteer to take their place?
Animal testing is important because it saves human lives.
(BTW - cosmetics may seem absurd - but how else can you find out if the stuff is safe? Should we wait until people have their faces peel off before we find out a particular cosmetic is not safe?)

Are you for or against testing on children? The first use of a drug on a living animal is by definition going to be an experiment. There is no computer model in the world that can reproduce the complexity of a living organism. I would rather kill a few rats than someones kid. Rats don't have souls - children do.
The other choice is just don't develop any more drugs, and let people die. You pick.
Edit: OK, I like Intrinsically's idea. I'd go along with that.

I am against testing for unnecessary reasons: like do we really have to give a rat 50X a regular nicotine intake daily to see that it is bad for you?
I am for it when it comes to testing drugs to cure such diseases as AIDS, cancer, etc.

I agree with and the others about the death row inmates. Hey, if they have done something so bad to desearve death at least they could go out helping to save lives by being used as test rats.

I submit that animal testing for medical purposes is necessary and proper. I don't particularly care for the idea of it being done without strict controls regarding abuse and gratuitous suffering on the part the animals.

Against, but I think that is VERY low on the totem pole of "important issues"
Also, testing medicines on animals is a must. Would you rather test them on humans?
However, when test makeup on them, I think that is just absurd.

Against. Personally I think we should do all of our testing on death row inmates. But some people would find this "inhumane" and would rather test on innocent animals.

There is no other method of testing the efficacy and potential dangers of new drugs.
My attitude - if it takes 10,000 dogs' lives to save the life of my child, I would think that a cheap price to pay.

yes and no . yes i am against for unnecessary items such as makeup , but am not against it for necessities like medicine . killing animals so we can look good is ridiculous
