I was suspended for a total of about 17 days this school year. We're now in the 26 or 7th week of school. My principal won't let me play tennis, be in marching band, or be in jazz band. Is that legal? I was suspended three times for tobacco possesion on school property, once for swaring in school, and once for being drunk during jazz band. I wasn't really drunk, the reason they found out is because a couple kids I drank with broke in the school and the school had it on tape. I wasn't drinking on school property.

25 years ago, a man was caught urinating in public.
A child saw this man and reported him.
He is now a registered sex offender.

FLASH FOWARD TO TODAY.

This man has NOT had any problems with the law since. He never served time for this crime.

He lives and has lived in Oviedo, Florida (owns his own house) for the longest time.
Oviedo just passed a law stating that a sex offender can NOT live within 2500 feet of a school, park, bus stop...
basically and effectively getting rid of all sex offenders in Oviedo.

This man made a very stupid mistake of taking a leak in public, but he did not touch or harm a child in ANY way.

He was told by the court that he had to move by July 1, 2007.

Aside from the obvious stupidity - is a child ANY safer 2501 feet from a sex offender than he/she is 2499 feet?

A neighbor I know is pregant the baby is due in May. She afraid the child father will take the child and she will never get to see the baby if they go to court. I told her this. You must get a job right away. A good judge will look at that. You have to have income to take care of baby. She does suffer from depression prior this issue and just found out she will be eligible for Vocational Rehab (they help people disabled to look for work). I also told her the child father does work and he told you he will take care of the child. I told her it best to your advantage to get along with him. He is the breadwinner of the family. They don't live together but do live down the street. I also told her you also have anonther child that 6yrs. Any action you do toward him negative. They may take your child away because all she get is food stamps and medicare. I told her even if you work part-time that look better than not having no income at all. I told her she a counseling if you need to

Why is it when a man commits a sexual offense against a child, his average punishment is about 20 years in prison

YET

When a woman commits the EXACT same offense against a child of the exact same age, her average prison term is only 2 years???

I am comparing apples to apples here.

The ONLY difference being the gender of the person committing a crime.

Men are the only ones who are expected to taike responsibility.

Women can choose to escape the responsibility of her actions, but if she doesnt then the man is FORCED to take responsibility?

It would advance the model of traditional families (Mom, Dad, kids).
It could reduce abortions.
It would reduce the state burden for orphans and abandoned children.
It would empty orphanages and other similar institutions.
It would alleviate pressure on the foster family system.
It would be Christianlike.
It would slow the rate of adoption by homosexual couples and single parents.

I'm looking for other views: for or against.

A driver hit my car, borrowing a utility vehicle from a company. I know who this person is. He lived here temporarily and he moves around a lot. I don't even think he would show up in court.

The company isn't paying because their company name is not on the police report and they can't find him. The vehicle was borrowed

Why did cops in NYC search my bag on the subway for NO reason?

I'm just a young girl minding my own business. Its a new rule/law/whatever of random stop and search in subways and buses.

Subway has thousands of entrances that terrorists can get thru with no detection. Does Bush think manning only a handful of entrances is going to stop a terrorist?

Soon the govt will have the right to stop me anytime anywhere to seach my bag for NO APPARENT REASON. I was just WALKING for godsake! What is this..Communist China?

MEANWHILE, MEXICAN AND CANADIAN BORDERS ARE WIDE OPEN!! WHO'S MANNING THE BORDERS

A lot of answers I read talk about how it takes 2 to make a child and that entitles the woman to child support. If that is the case, why is it that its the womans choice alone to unmake the child?

My daughter just turned 21 but a couple of months before her birthday, she got an MIP (minor in possession) ticket while visiting friends at an out of town college. We are in California and so is the college but the court would only allow her to to take an alcohol/substance abuse class in their jurisdition which because of work, she couldn't do. (Santa Barbara Court suspends your license unless you take their class). So, she received a mandatory 1 year suspension of her license. The ticket did not involve driving whatsoever. The judge gave her a provisional, to drive to and from work. Question is, will she have points on her DMV record? She was not required to get an SR22 so insurance won't know about the suspention until she comes up for renewal several months from now? Will this affect her insurance rates?

ok Part one,

Why cant abortion protesters find a better way to protest than having graphic images of an aborted fetus(not baby) and/or their parts on a giant poster board ???

I understand that the truth is harsh and hard but you dont see war protesters using graphic images of dead or dismembered soldiers to get their point across do you ???

Part 2

Due to the above I have had to explaine to my children what those posters are of and why people would use them,

Keep in mind that my kids are at an age where they barely have a concept of what the diffrences in boys and girls are why should I now be forced to explain this issue to minds that are absolutly NOT ready to undestand anything about this issue when its obvious that I made the right choice 2 consecutive times

as wrong as abortion is, its a morel and ethical wrong.
and as far as I know when a so-called democratic government starts dictating your morals and ethics, democracy ends and dictatorship begins

I developed gestational diabetes while pregnant with my second child. Postpartum, my OB/GYN never mentioned my GD and never ordered postpartum blood tests to check to see if the diabetes was gone. My husband went into business for himself recently and we no longer have group medical coverage and applied for private medical insurance. I have been denied coverage because there was no postpartum follow up of my diabetes. Is there anything I can do legally about this?

Did they miss the part of sex ed that said "you have to have sex to get pregnant"?

And don't give me that nonsense about "teens are going to have sex anyway". I KNOW there was less sex between teenagers 50 years ago, try to prove me wrong. What do you think if a parent would have found his daughter at a "rainbow party" in 1950?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_Rainbow_Party

There is no "it wasn't as publicized back then". Bull, it didn't happen. There was LESS promiscuous sex, less abortions, and NO AIDS. I know they still had VERY rare abortions, but still much less than they do today.

However, since people commit abortions anyway, we should make them legal, correct? Well, should rape be legal? People do it anyway?
(I know that question was just asked, but NO ONE answered it! I wonder why? They just beat around the bush, as they will with this one...)

Why did Hillary give “factually false” testimony under oath in the investigation of the White House Travel Office firings, as former Independent Counsel Robert Ray stated in his final report.

Ray said his office found “overwhelming evidence” she played a role in the dismissals of the seven longtime employees in the White House travel office, which she denied under oath.

This is for research on my legal thriller. The scenario is this: my MFC was aiming for a 24-hour continuance. Besides bomb threats and murder attempts, she lost a witness and then a judge due to a car bombing in his car. The judge did grant a continuance; but due to his death, it's now a mistrial. I'm wondering if you can have the same jury selected or have to start all over again? Any legal experts in here like lawyers to help me out?
