You want some cheese to go with your whine?
Think of it this way: Would you rather do a random drug test, or be sitting in prison? I would be happy to be out and would be glad to pee in the bottle if it was me! Things could be a lot worse.

You got sentenced for DUI so its a mandatory part of your probation. And its not as hard to pass them as some I seen in there think it is. I did it for 8yrs , how you might say. Simple I gave up drinking and doing drugs all together. Been 18yrs clean and sober. So if I can do it I feel anyone can if they really want to.
And believe me its a good idea to do that since next time you might not get stopped by a police officer but instead by another vechile. One in which you might not live thru or take someone else's life instead. And it doesn't mean it will be just another victim either . It could be a family member or a best friend that loses there life instead and it will haunt you for the rest of your life. Which taking anyones life should do anyways.
Think before you drink and you will always remember what you are going thru now.

Although the laws vary depending on where you live, it is common if you are sentenced to probation as part of it to submit to random drug and alcohol tests. Usually you are just tested every time you see your probation officer for an appointment, but could be tested at any time during the probation and if you test positive your probation will be immediately revoked.

Actually yes, I have heard of this, my son had to do the same thing, but his was for an MIP, not a DUI. As far as I am concerned, anyone who still gets a drivers license after a DUI is considered lucky, I don't think anyone who was dumb enough to get a DUI and took the chance of killing someone, or themselves should have the right to drive! (including my son!!)

Although drugs are irrelevant, it is still your sentence to be tested for this....do make sure you're clean and sober for the length of your probation. Please never drive your vehicle again in any state in which you could be charged with DUI. I've been to too many accidents in the past. Best of luck to you.

Anybody I have ever heard of being on probation had to submit for random drug/alcohol testing as part of their probation.

I've never heard of it and I have a criminal justice degree. However if your judge and probation officer feel you have a substance abuse problem they do have the right to make you submit to random tests.

Haven't heard of this but it's a great idea! Not only were you drunk and might have KILLED someone but you are under-age!
Learn from this major mistake and don't do it again. Take responsibility for your actions and don't whine about it being unfair.

Since driving is a "privelege" given by the state and not a "right" they can do whatever they want to you.
