I am a tourist who, unexpectedly had a baby during my stay in New Jersey in July 2006. My partner (an American citizen) brought me to a friend in New Jersey and when I had premature labor, she was the one who brought me to the hospital. In the ER, the nurse asked for my contact details, my companion gave her address and contact numbers as well. To date, my partner has not settled our hospital bills. Recently, my companion told me she has received the billing addressed to me sent to her residence. I am so embarassed about her being involved in my partner's irresponsibility. Is she liable to pay for my bills because she gave the hospital her contact details? How can I get her out of this hassle?

My friends Mom is going to call CPS soon.
Because my "dad" is a meth head and there was alot of mental and physical abuse going on. I'm pretty sure he will go to jail ecspecially if they find his stash and so will my Mom because she witnessed all of this and did nothing so she is just as guilty.
I am 15 going to be 16 in a few months.
I'm getting a job right now.
So is my twin sister. we would live together.
We also go to Independent Study so we can graduate early.
Do you think we could get emancipated?

One of the most important aspects to law enforcement is the anticipation of the resources required to perform police functions effectively. Manpower needs must be weighed, facilities and equipment purchased, and deployment and scheduling adjusted based upon the needs presented by the nature and scope of criminal activity on a local or national level. One of the best tools to assist in this regard is the compilation of data reflecting trends of criminal activity.

Select a city, town, or municipality and examine trends in criminal activity over the last three years. You may use your own hometown as the subject of this research. If you are an international student, please select a city in the United States for their research. Analyze reported crime statistics for major/minor offense categories such as murder, robbery, rape, etc. and create a table of the results. Graph the results showing trends for the various offenses. Identify neighborhoods within your chosen location that go against the trend. For example, murder may be down across the city but may have risen in a particular neighborhood.

Finally, draft a recommendation on how resources may be shifted to address the identified concerns.

Explain crime trends and patterns.
List the different functions of the police and the changing concepts of policing.

My boyfriend's car broke down, and I want to let him borrow my car while I'm at work so he won't feel so "caged" or whatever. He's not on my policy. What happens if there's an accident or he got pulled over or anything? Would he have to be added to the policy to be safe about it? I've honestly never let ANYONE drive a car of mine before, so this is a huge thing for me. Thanks.

This law (currently a bill in my state) allows people to use deadly force against intruders in the home. So for example, if you are sleeping, and someone breaks your window and enters, and then threatens you with a gun or a knife, you are allowed to use deadly force.

The good thing is that it changes the current law shich restricts you to running away in the event of danger.

The bad thing is that in some states, like Florida, there have been some shootings that have used this law as a defense.

Any examples of why you feel the way that you do (real life stories) would be greatly appreciated.

My ex boyfriend is an EU citizen, born in Ireland. He was renting a New York apartment and had four months left on his lease. He decided to sublet for the remainder of the lease because he wanted to move out of state to go to school. He advertised the sublet on Craigslist and had about 30 people come to see it. Out of those 30, about four said they definitely wanted it. A non refundable deposit was requested,so that he'd take it off the market and in total 4 people paid this and then flaked out and changed their minds or failed to pay the rest of the money etc.

Anyway, now three people who paid a deposit but did not follow through have complained to the cops about not getting their deposit back. My boyfriend has been told that unless he goes to the precinct, they will purse an arrest warrant for him. He has no money for an attorney or bail. He could languish in jail for months or even a year. He's considering just skipping back to Europe. What would you do?

Company in Nigeria. I have an address but have a hard time find answers. Can any one explain to me what happens if your international passport expires. If you send a package over seas what happens. I was told at the post office once the package leaves the USA that it is a free for all. I sent a package over seas and was told that there was something in it and know they are proscuting this person for it. I have never in my entire life ever done anything like that. I'm a clean person. I like to work out & a health nut. Can you please tell me if I've been scammed. If so I do I go about reporting this.

They asked me where I worked yet since I was not criminally charged just a civil demand do they have a right to tell my job? I mean if they wanted my work to know they would have charged me with the crime and had it put on my record? I guess I'm worried. I know it was stupid, I know. Also I know I was very lucky not to have been charged.
