So many people have read the story about the 2 guys in Atlanta that got 10 years for cooking a puppy alive in an oven. Some details that you might not know: They were 17 & 19, not children. One of them had already been convicted of molesting a 3 y/o boy. One had been in a mental facility. They were in and out of correctional facilities. Knowing that, do you think the sentence was fair or was it an overkill?

My belief is that if it does nobody else wrong, it should be legal. From what I can gather, the conservatives like to outlaw things they object to, regardless of if it affects somebody else’s rights.

A good example is motorcycle helmet laws. Since when does my choosing not to wear a helmet affect your ability to lead a productive life?

Another good example is sodomy laws. Since when does some guy liking sex a little different (ok, a lot different...) affect your ability to find work?

Is my ideology 'wrong'? Why?

I loaned an individual 20k for the purpose of buying and selling and item. The note that he signed for me only stated that I was loaning him money and that he had a certain amount of time to pay me back and how much to pay back. It did not state the purpose. Only a promisory note. He used the money for personal things. He did this to me and a friend. Can we file criminal charges?

I will try to be more specific, I loaned a friend money. I have a signed promisory note stating how much was lent and how much much would be paid back. He told me the funds would be used for the purpose of buying and selling an item. The note only stated how much was loaned and how much to be returned. I loaned him the money based on the fact that we would make money by buying and selling the item. Instead he used it for personal use. He did this to me and another friend. Can I file criminal charges..Fraud?

Two weeks ago My mother passed away suddenly and very unexpectedly, She was in a nurseing home for some rehabilitation and was actually ready to move out on her own again when it happened. There is no explanation for her death and bacause shewas in a nursing home at the time of death they would not preform an autopsy to find out her Dr. just put down her past illness from 4 years ago as the cause of death. When I arrived at the home the staff told me a horrible story of how they all just simply stood around and watched her die! They said she had a do not resusitate in her file so they could do nothing for her. I was under the impression that meant DNR after they flat line they said she was still breathing and had a heart beat when they found her so they put her in her bed and held her hand until she took her last breath and slipped away. I need to know for my own peace of mind that they acted properly according to the law. Also is it legal to rope a depressed person into signing a DNR?

When America was founded it was expected to be a place where People could come and not be Prosecuted but Slavery was Excepted. Than Abraham Lincoln Helped Abolish Slavery. Well Segregation Happened. Enter Martin Luther King and we as Americans started tolerating Blacks more. Fast foward to 9/11, Bin Laden convinces some radical Muslims to crash Planes in the World Trade Towers and The Pentagon. Most White Americans Didn't Tolerate Muslims Before. Now It is Worse. Why.??? I really don't see the Point. Just because Some are Really bad Apples Doesn't mean All of them Are. This America I was born into Is supposed to be the Land of the Free. It was Intended for all human Beings, White, Black, Hispanic, Muslim, whatever. The Tablet on the Statue of Liberty says Bring Me Your Poor Your Hungry, Your Tired Masses. Nowhere Does it say Get Out of Our Country. Am I the only White Boy in America who has any Tolerance for Other Races and Other Religous Views???. Let Me Know. Please.

When people post on the board about an MIP it seams that people take that as a DUI. Is it the the same charge? I think the sentencing is much different. I am going to talk to my lawyer tommorrow because I got my second MIP at a party. I violated my probation so I am not sure how serious it is. Any one been in this situation? Thoughts? Also, don't tell me that I have a problem, I just have really bad luck.

I ve just read a previous question about a guy being scammed by a women named Tomi Daniels. who is taking care of her deceased dad's business in Nigeria. I met her on Yahoo Personals. We have been emailing one another for the past week. This person has not asked for money yet but I have a feeling they soon will. They do not know that I am onto them. Is there a way of capturing them? I guess since this is the world wide web that that would be virtually impossible, however, I figure there maybe someone out there who knows something that I don't and may know away to capture them. The next guy may not be so lucky to discover the scam in time. I was suspicious at first, she said her parents died 6 months ago and she currently lives in Nigeria trying to save her dad's company from going banckrupt. They say a sucker is born everyday, and let me be the first to admit that I am a sucker. Oh, I asked for pics and I was sent 4 pics of the girl. I still have them, proba. stolen pics

If you are pro death penalty aren't you pro for killing innocent people in the rarity? Iam beginning to think the whole reason people support the death penalty is for sexual craving. I do believe in ultimate punishment for criminals but I will never support sacrificing one innocent soul to punish many. Many people will reply saying Iam full of it. Heres an unfoulable statement. We have executed innocent people before, not many but it has happened. Your full of it if you think the untied states court system is unfouable like the pope (every decision they make is the correct one). You cannot garuntee no innocent executions, its absolutely impossible mathematically and scientifically speaking by today's standards in technology. We have killed innocent people, few but is it worth it? is it worth putting an innocent person to death unknowingly to punish a majority? I can't believe people think america has never executed an innocent, How do they know beyond any doubt what so ever?

I find it a double standard to be aquitted by a legal jury of your peers in a criminal trial and still be allowed to be found financially responsible for the same criminal actions of which you were aquitted. It makes no sense at all to me!
