Currently, if someone says something in court that isn't allowed under law, the judge tells the jury to pretend they didn't hear that or he declares a mistrial and the whole trial must be done over at great expense.

My idea is to go thru the trial without the jury present, instead, record the whole thing and show the tape to the jury. Then anything inadmissable can be edited from the tape before the jury can be prejudiced by it. To make sure everything is fair, the edited tape must be approved by the prosecution, defense, and judge before it can be showed to the jury.

I think this will save the court system a lot of time and money. What do you think?

i received a letter and a REAL check from a sweepstakes drawing done by Readers Digest and it's for $3,100.00 I called the number on the bottom of the letter and they stated that i had to CASH that check and let it clear and MAIL it back to them in order to receive my lump sum of $65,000.00 What kind of scam is this and how does it work? I don't understand why they cant just keep their check and SEND me my so called: LUMP SUM! Is their any way to bust these people from commiting such a crime, if it is even a crime?Whats the whole point in US cashing the check and MAiling it back to them as a different form of check????

I knew he smokes pot prior to becoming business partners, however I think it effects his mood and mentality. He however defends the use of pot.

I think it effects him in a negative manner, and yet I don't think he see's it.

I'm no longer happy with the partnership, not soley because of his pot use, its also our clashing personalities.

The business runs great and I'd like to be the captain of the ship, rather then argue with my partner. What should I do...?

i got a phone call from this law firm whom left a message saying they want to talk to me about my father and stated his full name. they seem to know my full name, too. i googled their phone number and what comes up is a website saying the collins law firm have called other people and they are basically a scam. so im really confused because does that mean they got your information from a REAL debt collector and it was passed onto them? so how can you tell whether or not you have a debt that needs to be taken care of if theres scamming going on? i know my dad has unpaid credit cards and changed his phone number so im wondering if he has a real debt and this party got ahold of his information and are just scamming for money or whether he really has a debt that needs to be paid. how do i go about resolving this?

I posted on craiglist looking for a roommate. I got few exactly same emails from various names. Many emails have some similaries such as born in same city, study at same college, etc...

They're so quick to ask for phone number and address.

From what I see, I definitely know it's a scam. However I'm wondering how do this scam work? What are they trying to gain?

Hope someone can help, thank you.

I have heard of a "Needs Based Award" in Illinois when dealing with child support as a non-custodial parent. No I'm not rich but I was just wondering if I were, and I had $50,000,000, would I have to pay $10,000,000 (Illinois law states that it is 20% of your net income for 1 child). $2,000,000 would be much more than what the child NEEDS.

I just came home and found several items missing from my home and my garage lights were left on. I have a very good feeling that my teenage daughter's boyfriend (age 17) is the one who did it. The police don't seem helpful other than taking the report. Is there a way I can prove it? Fingerprinting? There are prints on my sports car. Can I demand a search of his house/car by the police? He does have a history of breaking and entering.

Over a year ago, my mother-in-law hurt her back on the job. She had back surgery and it's been about year and she's still not better, in fact, she's in alot of pain, but worker's comp has stopped sending her payments saying she's made improvement. She's applied for disability but that hasn't been approved yet.
Unfortunately, my father-in-law is disabled and doesn't work, and now that she isn't receiving any more workers comp payments, they're not making bills meet.
They have no money, no insurance, she's hurting and swollen and has no doctor. They recently lost their car and house and are living with her brother-200 miles away from her doctor in this area. I'm at a loss as to what to do, and when I suggest a lawyer, she says they have no money to pay a lawyer and I can't quite call a lawyer myself, they'd think I'm nuts.
Anyone have any ideas?

I signed a new car loan. They told me that I could not take the car home until I had full coverage insurance. When I went to get insurance they would not cover me any further. Now I want out of the deal with the dealership. I was told by a friend that the paperwork that I filled out was fraudulent since they knew that I did not have full coverage. Is this true and can this contract be voided because of it?

South Dakota Law-Can retail stores legally hold a shoplifter under false imprisonment legally until higher authority arrives?

I have looked through our laws but I keep coming up with the same website.

Do any of you know? I did find a really good one on Washington State, but that isn't going to help me if their state laws are different.

okay i got a strange call from collins law firm from a lady named bobby towell...not sure if thats her name, she talks really fast. she said she was calling in route of my father (then stated his name) saying she has a lawsuit against him and stated the number and extension she could be reached at. she said she needs to talk to me based onmy father. so why would she call me and word it like that and not call him? i typed in the number she called from as well as her 1888 number she suggested i call and both numbers come up as fraud and warning not to give out personal information to them. so im a tad confused. i know they say it's a scandal, but how did she get my number and know my father's full name? he has had credit cards in the past and changed phone numbers so i thought it was real until i looked up their number. so how can i tell for sure what's real and what's a scandal, help???????????

Some of my friends were discussing the fact that terrorist and illegal immigrant obtain US citizen SSN's and identities over the internet and what not. Also apparently if you go to certain websites you can pay money every month and basically find out anything you want about any given person. I under stand Freedom of Information act but isn't this more along the lines of Privacy Act.

Five months ago I got pulled over for an out headlight.
The address on my insurance was different from my driver's license. They said that I was required to change my address. They had me sign some paper that said, something, i don't remember what. Then they started asking me if I had any drugs in the car, and one of them started looking all around it. Then they asked if they could search. I refused, and they said to go sit down. A few minutes later they handed me a what looked like a ticket, and said I could go. When I looked at the paper every field was blank. I didn't know if what it was I tried to ask the officers, but they were driving away.

I just moved, and that paper did not come with. It's been five months. Today I went to get the mail and found a letter from the city. I thought it was jury duty, but when I opened it the city says I have two warrants for my arrest, and I owe them almost $500.

If the paper was blank what was I supposed to do? What do I do now?
