my girlfriend and I have a daily routine where she calls me at 10pm so we can talk before going to bed. The other night she was 10 minutes late and so i txtd her and told her i was taking a shower and to call me in 15 minutes. Well i was done with my shower and waiting for her to call me... she eventually calls me around 11 pm. I asked her what she was doing and she says talking to her mom and that she was sorry. I confronted her and asked her if she was talking to my brother instead, and she said no but she had talked to him earlier and that she wasnt lying. I believed her and told her ok. We had an unusually silent conversation for about another 10 minutes until i told her i was going to bed. The next day I was just too curious to stop so i checked my brothers phone and she had infact been tlaking to him... since 9PM! she even txtd him back at 11:30 and told him not to tell me about it. I confronted her and she was sorry... and now we havnt talked in 2 days... what to do?

where i live, our complex has been sold. ive been here since 2001, and at that time we had paid $120 for back ground checks.
ive gotten a letter today, well, more like a photocoppied generic survey requesting general info such as my car and tag#, animals and rabies shots ect.
they have also asked me for my social secuirty number, SHOULD I NOT BE PROVIDED A PRIVICY POLICY, hipa documents or something?
IM MEAN LEGALLY. NO SMARTAS* ANSWERS PLEASE...
seriously, is there a law or something that requires one of these privacy policies to be furnished while requesting this info?
follow up, DO I REALLY NEED TO PAY FOR ANOTHER BACKGROUND CHECK? why didnt they purchase the files as well???
THANKS NO SMARTAS& ANSWERS PLEASE

I'm thinking of having my employer sponsor me for Top Secret clearance. I know the process will cost them about $10K. I have been advised to not apply (and cause my employer to spend that money) if there are things in my background that would cause my application to be rejected. Just wondering what factors are considered when applying for this clearance.
Thanks.

I know it was done acceptably in the old times, if someone was a disgrace to their city / town, but can this still be done legally today?

(NOTE: This question does NOT include deportation and illegal immigrants!)

Ok... so, 43 days ago I overnighted a guy in CA (who i found on craigslist) a $1250 cashier's check for a canon 20d camera and a canon 24-70mm L lens... I had talked to him on the phone and he made it all sound totally legit. I honestly still think it was. Basically, a long story short, I have been calling and emailing him ever since and besides a couple little emails and one time of answering a call after he cashed my check -- he has been stringing me along. So in response to someones advice, I wrote him a registered letter restricted to his name only... I got the message and signature saying he recieved the letter 1.5 weeks ago, and according to what I saw-- someone else signed for it, even after I paid the post office to restrict it to his signature only. This was confirmed when the guy emailed me on the deadline I gave him last Tuesday saying he would "send me my money back once he got home, as he hadn't read the letter yet"...

A year ago I tried to cash a check in my name at my husbands bank. He had signed it and filled it out. The teller refused the check and then put a fraud alert out on my name without any knowledge to me. A week later I tried to cash another check at the same bank which this time was from my mother. Then I was denied only to find out after a phone call that a fraud alert was put on my name. My husbands account was froze without any notification and we were charged tons of fees from returned checks. After several calls I was told that the fraud alert was removed but never given an apology. Now over a year later I tried to cash another check from my husband and was told they wouldnt because of the "FRAUD ALERT" . Im totally pist and very upset!!! How can they get a way with this and do I have a right to sue for this when they have no reason for the fraud alert

I heard that you could be fired for anything, say for example, for wearing a brown shirt. The only catch is that the company who fired that person for wearing that brown shirt has to fire everyone who wears a brown shirt to work. Is that true?

I think I heard about something similar a while ago too. I heard that a man was fired for smoking. Just smoking a cigarette outside wear he was allowed by law to smoke. I guess that wold be a real life example. Anyone else hear of this?

If anyone has any helpful websites to direct me to, or anything like that; it's a definite gold star ;)

Can his surviving widow go after the funds?...... the widow filed an elder abuse claim with the DA within 2 days after the death claiming elder abuse by the benificiary even tho the deceased was in an ok state of mind and knew exactly what he was doing.... DETAILS: He (deceased) did not have a trust or will and probably knew that if anythign happened all of his money would go to his wife. so he transfered the money into a 6 month CD on his own free will with his child as the beneficiary... To top it off the widow left a sucidal person with access to the handgun he killed himself with.

So to sum it up :
1. The deceased's money is sitting in a CD with just his name and his childs a beneficiary.

2. The widow of the deceased filed elder abuse claims 2 days after he died because she checkd the account the day after he died and the money had been moved to a CD. she claimed that the beneficiary "STOLE" the money.

What should a person do?

My boyfriend was involved in a car accident last year, it wasn't his fault. He almost died because his car was rear-ended by a pick up truck, then his car enden up on the opposite lane and that's when a semi truck hit him. he couldn't get back to work right away because of his injuries, so his job let him go after 2 months. He still couldn't walk and he still had a cast on the left leg. His job said that according to their policy, an employee can only be off from work for 2 months. I keep telling him to file a lawsuit against his former employer because it wasn't his fault, and he was going back to work anyway after 10 weeks (2 1/2 months). He just needed an extra 2 weeks to get the cast remove, but his boss said no. We think they did that because they hired somebody else w/ a lower salary. What do you think? Did his former employer break any type of "Labor Law"? Thanks!

I am endlessly interested in people's opinion on this topic. So, please give me an answer. (I am 120% pro-choice, but understand the views of those who disagree) In my opinion, it was men who spurned the idea that abortion shouldn't be sanctioned by law. But it is a women's right to choose what she wants to do with her body, right??

After constant hounding by the fascist TV licensing Gestapo with their thinly veiled threats of "visits" and "consequences" for not possessing a TV license (not tuned, not connected to any antenna, cable or other receiving equipment) and if it ever gets used its for watching DVD's.

I am now writing back to tell them to stop harassing me and that their letters seem to breach the Malicious communications Act (as amended by Section 43 Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001) so the question is ....should I let them off or strike back with Legal Action and give them a taste of their own medicine?

I've called the cops about my next-door neighbor's excessively barking dog, and they told me to call animal control. the cop helping me gave me the wrong number for animal control, so i looked up the real one. animal control said they couldn't do anything. they said make the cops handle it.

did i just get a lazy cop to help me? if i call 911 again will they help me out?

how am i supposed to go about this entire dog barking thing?
