You sign your own name and the following:

John Doe, Power of Attorney for Fred Doe, Whatever County, South Carolina, Court Case #XXXXXX.

Keep a copy of the power of attorney with you for the bank. They will want a copy and likely want you to open a bank account showing you as power of attorney for this person

The best thing would be to contact either your bank or the person who witnessed the power of attorney. There ought to be a toll free number for your bank. You could start there.

Hopefully someone on here will know the answer.

If you are depositing the check into a bank you may have to give the bank a notarized or certified copy of the power of attorney and then just simply endorse the check with your own signature. The power of attorney gives you the authorization to act for that person, so you are in effect signing the check for him, but you would sign it in your own name.

You would sign the checks like this:
Assume Elvis Presley appoints his wife, Priscilla Beaulieu Presley, as his agent in a written power of attorney. Priscilla, as agent, must sign as follows:

Elvis Presley, by Priscilla Beaulieu under POA

or

Priscilla Beaulieu Presley, attorney-in-fact for Elvis Presley.

properly in accordance to the question all the different solutions are incorrect. you do no longer say that the signatory is forging a signature so i assume they are signing their call particularly of the call of the cheque proprietor. it is truthfully criminal, it particularly is as much as the economic corporation to come back to a decision in spite of if that's a valid signature. in the event that they have ability of criminal expert then the economic corporation will settle for his or her signature simply by fact the flexibility has been notified to the economic corporation.

Usually you have to have a certified copy of the POA to take to the bank. Then you can sign the name with POA after it. I have to do it for my mother. After they get the certified copy of it, they keep it at the bank so get several copies
