What is the first ever recorded divorce in the USA? What year & state did it occur in?

As the United States was originally (and still is to some degree) governed under English common law, which recognized divorce long before the first Europeans arrived, divorce has always been a part of the US experience.

As to who the first divorce actually was I do not know, but I imagine it didn't take long after the first settlers arrived at Plymoth Rock.
