I believe it is outdated and not applicaple to todays society. It was written when dueling was still an acceptable way of settling disputes. Nobody should have the right to own a gun, it should be a priviledge that could be revoked if necessary.

I requested and was approved for vacation time by my employer. This time off was requested and approved on December 17th, 2006. The time off is for January 6th and January 9th through the 13th of 2007, respectively. Every year our time off restarts. Since I've been with the company for five years, I am allotted 160 hours of paid time off. 120 hours of that is vacation time. 40 hours of that is optional holidays. According to the new attendance policy (presented to us after January 1st, and AFTER I submitted and was approved for the time off...ergo, I was not properly informed of said policy), we are only allowed to use our optional holiday time within the first two weeks of January. My approved days of January 6th and the 9th - 12th would have been covered since I normally worked 4 hours on January 6th and 9 hours each day on the 9th - 12th, totalling 40 hours of optional time. I was told that I had to drop the 13th. Can make me do this legally being that it is already pre-approved?

Me and two other girls at work are all getting trained for the supervisor job at my work. We will all get the job, there is no challenge among co-workers here.
However, if you are going to get hired as a regular employee, there is no background check. But to have your own keys and codes and whatnot, you have to have a background check. If something shows up on your record, not only do you not get the job, you get fired. Automatically. No excuses, explanations or exceptions.
She was talking to our assistant manager today and she said something about having criminal charges that were either dismissed or dropped before judgement/court. Well they still show up on her record? If she was charged with something, will the charges show up even if there was no trial?

What my question pertains to is the fact that ---I am a little tired of the "correct way to live police" telling everyone not to smoke, don't eat this or that , you have to wear a seatbelt but God forbid you wear a helmet.
At times the "correct police" make no sense. Thundering down the highway at 65 with the wind in your hair makes some happy - so what if hitting the road side splatters their wits all over the road way - the law is okay with no helmet just don't smoke a that rest stop.

Both may kill you but why is the government choosing? Don't say because of common sense - that shows they have none. Are bike lobbists wealthy?

Before you claim I am a smoker just out to kill people with second hand smoke - here is the facts. I am 46 , never smoked - never choose to, none of my children smoke and my father did smoke but quit.

When I go out for a night of drinking I don’t hold back. However, this past weekend I became so intoxicated I was disoriented. Even worse, I had no perception where I was and almost got hit by a car. The bars I go to are pretty much in a 5 to 10 block range and I always walk. So my question is can I buy or rent a Seeing Eye dog to bring out with me to the bars and most importantly guide me safely home?

Does anyone know how it works if you have been on probation for Dui's and you complete the probation, but you have had 3 and your state (MO), says you can't get a license for 10 years. I know there are states that have lesser penaltys. So if you move to one of those states, will they go by their requirements in issueing a drivers license? Or will they not let you have one for 10 years also? Be aware this is an awful thing my family is going through, and this man needs to work, so the sooner he gets the means the better. He feels awful and is now looking for the best way to keep supporting his family. So I guess what I am asking is If your DUI is 2 years old, and MO says nope till 10 years, and the penalty in say FL is only 1 year loss will you be clear? Thanks!

My neighbor's dog is always running away and I have told him that many times. Yesterday when I was coming home the dog ran right in front of my car and I accidently hit him. Unfortunatle the dog did not servive, but that's not the problem. The dog was a German Shepperd so it did a lot of damage to the front of my car. Sshould I sue my neighbor?

Harry Tiko: there is no moral argument agaist it. Countessa: it is legal in Holland. Well, I was born in Holland, and elderly family members are afraid to go to hospital for even the simplest procedure, as they know they will not come out alive and continue to be a drain on the gov.t pension funds. This I don't call euthanasia but simply government-sanctioned murder.

I have a tailbone nerve injury from a fall on rental property. It is permanent and disabling. I would like to know if anyone has an idea of the approximate damages that I could expect from a jury? My attorney has suggested settling the case for $40,000, but I know that this is far too low...my medications for the next 30 years, should they remain the same as today, would be over $180,000...the $10,000 I would have left after everybody is paid off leaves me with only $300.00 a year, much less than the $6,000 min. cost annually of the medications. And I have not included the monthly doctor visits, or physical therapy costs. Not to mention that I will be taken off of foodstamps, medicaid, Section 8, and disability if I do not use the money within 30 days...or so I have been advised. Any advice would be very helpful for me to decide if I should settle, or go to trial...Thank you.

every time i log on to my yahoo mail, ive got one, or more violation notifications. Its not just me. Things have been changing.
In online terms, im actually a reasonably long term user. Ive seen changes over the time, including violation emails.
It seems you get one (and minus points) just for answering a rude, or iffy question, thats later deleted. Often, much later.
Im not exactly contreversial, the odd swear, odd delibarate bate, muck about, Then you expect it...but every email opening?
And you dont know where your at fault, as you cant access the page (its deleted) to reference where you over stepped the mark!
Anyone else, sick of these psuedo offical (yet meaningless) tellings off? WE are the users, the "customers" of the site advertising, and what makes it? Are YOU fed up of this sh it?

A black male has been harassing me and threatening to fight me for two(2) days now. I wish to know if I have a legal chance in this. He is a minor [I assume], and I am eight-teen(18). I know about the self-defense law, but I don't know it, specifically.

I feel as though I am being targeted for no reason, as I have done nothing to provoke him. This has been going on for two(2) days now, as of Wednesday, January 10th, 2007. I wish to know if anyone could help me out with legal advice or tips, and to further explain, I am the on being threatened, and I fear a fight may come up if I am unable to get to the bus in time. I do not wish to fight for legal reasons, and I do not wish to be called a 'coward'. any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I am bisexual, and live in the state of Wisconsin, if that helps, as I hear each state is different.

*NOTE*
I will not stand for any 'useless' answers, those being outright racist, or for 'point-gaming'. ONLY answer if you have relavent input.
