every time i log on to my yahoo mail, ive got one, or more violation notifications. Its not just me. Things have been changing.
In online terms, im actually a reasonably long term user. Ive seen changes over the time, including violation emails.
It seems you get one (and minus points) just for answering a rude, or iffy question, thats later deleted. Often, much later.
Im not exactly contreversial, the odd swear, odd delibarate bate, muck about, Then you expect it...but every email opening?
And you dont know where your at fault, as you cant access the page (its deleted) to reference where you over stepped the mark!
Anyone else, sick of these psuedo offical (yet meaningless) tellings off? WE are the users, the "customers" of the site advertising, and what makes it? Are YOU fed up of this sh it?

i joined like 4 days ago and already have gotten one. they said i was rude to another participant and insulted them. i felt it was unfair because i in no way insulted the asker. they asked, and i gave my opinion.

they said if i had anything to say i could email this link in the email, so i did that and i haven't gotten a response. ah well.

I feel your pain. I get violation notices just because someone disagrees with me. Is this site so special that no one can even express an opposite opinion without being blasted by the violation gods? Insults I can handle -- censorship is another matter...
Just for fun, try answering a question in the 'vegetairian/vegan' section. Those vegans are the most hate-filled, hurmorless people I have EVER encountered.

I am really fed up with them. I thought that the whole point of this site was to express our opinions, that is all they are. We are not holding guns to other users heads to make them agree or anything. The most annoying excuse for deleting answers/questions is "Insulting or offending other users". Different opinions tend to offend someone or another, so just let us get on with it. What a ridiculous situation.

I'll have probably offended somebody for mentioning guns and other users in the same sentence................

Sure, I am a moderate. If I am not ticking off a Bush lover, I am ticking off a Clinton lover. I thought this was an open forum, not a pander to the pansies forum. But the flat out fact of the matter is that most of the people that report all the time only have three and four letter words in their vocabulary. They don't know how to refute you, so they report you.

I get them all the time...couldn't care less about them or the points - why are people wanting the points - they don't make prizes on this site.
I put a lot of jokes on here and I had one idiot tonight (JACK DANIEL) who said he was reporting me to yahoo for one of my sexist JOKES. Wish people like him would get a life and have a laugh :)

NOTE TO COWBOY BILL above - I asked a question, as you suggested, in the Vegetarian section - take a look at the nasty comments I got - it was only a joke!!! :)

I got one but i clicked on spam and now any other`s i get go straight into my junk mail !
I think many of the violation`s happen at the weekend`s or holiday`s when the kid`s are off school i think a better system would be to remove the report abuse feature and put in a automatic violation if say your answer got 10 thumb`s down for instance !

Yep, I got one when informing the multitude of why you should not purchase extended warranties, and the laws that protect you when faults appear WELL AFTER the warranty expired. Probably some snot sh-thead of a salesman complained of some chatting going on.

I get them all the time as well. It is bull. Im tempted to foward it back to them and tell them to shove it up their asses. (hear that one yahoo?). I said it before and i will say it again. Big Business/Corporations and the Government will ruin the internet. Within 5 years it wont be the same. You probably wont be able to run your own website or even post on a blog without a license- a license which will be yanked if you say the wrong thing.

Yes, I AM extremely fed up! I do nothing wrong (most of the time) and every other day I get something saying, "you've been reported" for saying something like, "I don't support Bush." It's really, truly exasperating to find out people can't handle my opinions.

One guy rather smugly told me that he was going to get a question of mine deleted, he seem really proud of himself, but they didn't agree with him. But yes I've had 3 deleted for really tenuous reasons. Meanwhile people are allowed to abuse other folk in the most disrespectful ways. I don't think this present set up is really tenable and expect it to change fairly soon.

You have my sympathies.
