We are going to Florida in november (live in the U.K) and was told today that i may need my son's father's permission to take him.

He hasn't got parental responsibility as we weren't married and we have never been through a court process for anything.

Can anyone tell me if what i was told is true?

I have never been given a decent answer to this question. The whole premise that the Bush White House outed Plame to discredit her husband makes no sense.

Wilson comes back from Africa and says things the White House doesn't like. What to do, what to do? "I know, let's out his wife! She's a WMD expert at the CIA. That'll make Wilson look like a fool!!"

No DUI, nor speeding nor overt distractions (like cell phones, etc). Just someone breaks hard, you dont catch it that instant, and hit them.

Why is Brandy/Moesha being charged?

Ok she used their credit cards but isn't that the responsibility of the credit card companies to check for fraud?
Is she really THAT much of a danger to society that she has to be put in the already overcrowded prisons whilst actual harmful criminals are sent free??

How can we make the government actually see some sense in what they are doing?

what do you think?

Just days before 9/11/01 someone purchased stock options on American Airlines and United Airlines. Why hasn't the American government focused on finding that person? It is my feeling, that is the person who could be responsible for 9/11. The person never came forward and took up the options. Why?

"When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."(Sinclair Lewis)
On Monday, the 35th anniversary of Roe V. Wade, George W. Bush played to the sacred fetus crowd with his annual phone call to anti-reproductive rights activists. pandering to the so-called pro lifers
That Bush finds it necessary at this juncture to continue to cater to the whims of the extremist Christian Right speaks volumes as to the disproportionate amount of influence that religious fringe holds over American policy.
Radical clerics like Falwell and Dobson and their ilk are deferred to and treated as king makers for any potential political candidate willing to pucker up to kiss Dobson and Falwell’s rings and derierres.
The extremist elements of the Christian Right need to be stigmatized and isolated as the cancer on free society that they truly are and not embraced by charlatan politicians pandering for votes.
Take a moment to recall that the Nazi party was small and close to ignored early on while the "Constitution Party" is the third largest party in the U.S.
Note that the recently declared Republican Presidental candidate, ex Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has called for taking America for Christ.
No need to obsess about Theocracy yet but vigilance would be prudent.

As it is now, the majority of those who 'carry guns' are criminals and those who don't are victims or potential victims.Imagine this,A bank robber bursts into a bank with 50-75 people in it,any, all or none may be' packing '. Or the woman at the ATM late at night "Is she packing or not?" and so on.

Good Morning,
I have been trying to get my money back from a company for 1 year now. I decided to take this matter to small claims court. I filled out the paperwork at received a pre-trial date and time. I just received a letter in the mail from the defendant stating he can't make it on this date/time. He told me to schedule it for 1 month after. I called the county (Brevard, Fl) and they said they didn't know if I was obligated to change the date. I don't want to change the date and wait another month to get my money. Does anyone know if I have to change the date? Or can I keep this date and make him change whatever plans he has on this date?
Thank you,
Kimberley

I was reading about ethical models like the Kantian Categorial and Post-Modernism and stuff like that. Do you think that there is a set of rules or guideline that if we all follow will let the society progress (enviroment too!) infinitly?

because her mother was on drugs. Well my friend took care of that child for 6 years (the grandma) all of a sudden last September the dcfs took her away and put her with another family member. The childs physican told them the child had bonded with her grandmothr and she worried she might just give up and die if seperated from her grandma. Well both dcfs and the judge ignored the physicals letter, 4 and 1/2 mothes later the child after recieving a clean bill of health of Friday suddenly died on Sunday. I am so angry that not one person will be held accountable for this. I don't think any branch of our government should be free of a system of checks and balances. Shouldn't a question be raised on what would make a judge or uneducated social worker think they know more than a lkiscensed physican? How could they justify a childs life because they thought they knew more than a dr? They should be held accountable shouldn't they?

This physical education teacher at my high school believed that one of his student was a drug abuser. He had noticed the needle marks on the student's arms and has been acting erratically in recent weeks. The teacher reported this to the principal, who in turn notified the student's parents.
It has turned out that the student was a diabetic. The needle marks were from his insulin injections and the erratic behavior was the result in a recent change in his insulin dosage.
The student and his parents sued the teacher and the school for defamation of character.

Is there any way for the teacher to defend himself from the law suit?
