As it is now, the majority of those who 'carry guns' are criminals and those who don't are victims or potential victims.Imagine this,A bank robber bursts into a bank with 50-75 people in it,any, all or none may be' packing '. Or the woman at the ATM late at night "Is she packing or not?" and so on.

In Kennesaw GA. as a joke to the "take up all the guns,bu-tt heads" they past a law, that all home owners "must own a HANDGUN. Home burglerys droped 85% in one year. But the thought of the wild west days is just wierd. I carry a gun Every where I go, but I have stopped going places I might have to use it. I try to stay away from 'trouble areas' and with the chance of getting reported I'll say it anyways, black neighbor hoods where drugs are known to be sold, and areas known for crimes, but try to jump my car you'll get killed, because I wont stop shooting until you stop moveing.

I agree with you partially. There are always complications. For those that think weapons should be banned, e-mail me and I will send you a "NO GUNS IN THIS HOUSE" sticker to put on your mailbox or front door. Thus the predators will know which house to invade safely.

If you want to really create a polite society, get rid of the laws against murder. After a general shake-up, things would settle down and the survivors will be genuinely nice people.

Read Robert A. Heinlein's book The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. A lot of interesting points to ponder in that one. You will end up reading it more than once, I promise.

Well, I am not in favor of banning guns, but I am also not in favor of everyone carrying one around all the time. Not even in favor of 10% carrying them around all the time or part of the time. There are far too many people who think that real life is like the movies and that a shootout is a fun thing and only the bad guys get killed. Too many people have severe anger problems and with a gun they would go postal when they had an episode. What I am saying is that there are too many immature people out there who should not be carrying a gun around with them at all times. If they have one at home then ok, I like that, but I would not trust them with one in public.

In every state where law abiding people can legally carry, crime rates have gone down.

Agree and this has been proved by Flordia and Texas when they passed laws that allowed weapons to be carried.

Disagree.

The majoirity of people are not mature enough, responsible enough or educated enough to handle a gun.

Leave guns to the professionals - the police and the military.

Disagree. If that were the case then the US would be considered a polite society. It's not.
