"When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."(Sinclair Lewis)
On Monday, the 35th anniversary of Roe V. Wade, George W. Bush played to the sacred fetus crowd with his annual phone call to anti-reproductive rights activists. pandering to the so-called pro lifers
That Bush finds it necessary at this juncture to continue to cater to the whims of the extremist Christian Right speaks volumes as to the disproportionate amount of influence that religious fringe holds over American policy.
Radical clerics like Falwell and Dobson and their ilk are deferred to and treated as king makers for any potential political candidate willing to pucker up to kiss Dobson and Falwell’s rings and derierres.
The extremist elements of the Christian Right need to be stigmatized and isolated as the cancer on free society that they truly are and not embraced by charlatan politicians pandering for votes.
Take a moment to recall that the Nazi party was small and close to ignored early on while the "Constitution Party" is the third largest party in the U.S.
Note that the recently declared Republican Presidental candidate, ex Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has called for taking America for Christ.
No need to obsess about Theocracy yet but vigilance would be prudent.
If interested, check out the new book by Chris Hedges entitled American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America and get current.

There are Christian's on the left also, although many may not want to acknowledge that fact. Christians happen to make up the majority of the population and most of them are a far cry from bring fascist's. Ignoring the will of the majority would be fascism. Hitler and Stalin were atheists-Hitler and Stalin were fascists. You say no need to obsess about theocracy, but it sounds like you are to me.

It is interesting that you mentioned the Nazi's in your post.

The Nazi's were two political bodies...the SA and the SS. The SA and the SS were both socialists, and the SA was a rampant homosexual organization. On the night of long knives, Hitler betrayed the SA and allied with the SS, wiped out the SA, and took control of the political powers. Shortly after, the sick head of state of Germany died, and Hitler combined prime minister and chancelor into furher, making himself leader of greater germania.

What you are saying is that in order to be a free society that is tolerant, we need to be intolerant towards the Christian Right. How far do we take this? If you do not agree with the minimum wage, must you too be ostracized in order to maintain a free society?

Just because you disagree with someone does not mean you should seek to eliminate the means they have to address the population. A free society means that the CR has the opportunity to persuade the masses of its message, just as the Libertatians do, the Democrats do, the Republicans do, the Socialists do, and any other organization.

What you espouse is that freedom is only for those who agree with you. That is not freedom, friend. That is facist. You seek to end facism with facism.

Your entire post is grossly insulting. You use inaccurate references like

"sacred fetus crowd"

"pandering"

"extremist"

"radical"

"pucker up"

"charlatan"

"theocracy"

How can anyone take your argument (if it is an argument) seriously when you AVOID the ENTIRE ISSUE: the rights of the unborn. You clearly do not understand the right to life movement or their beliefs.

Try to become more informed.

You are right. Thinking that an unborn baby should be safe from being ripped from his mothers womb. Those darn evil extremists. All of America's great leaders had strong faith. And the Democrat party has it's own share of extremists too. Rev's Al and Jessie are prime examples.

That is bizarre. I am a Christian and anti-Abortion but I am not even a chauvinist, let alone a fascist.

Christian fascism is a Leftist ad hominem label placed on us in an attempt to side-line our rightful, democratic redress, dialog, and free speech.

there is not any longer a rustic contained in the international that is doing the want of God. they are all area of the *beast gadget*. To blaspheme is to speak irreverently or profanely of God, or to characteristic some thing to God that isn't any longer of Him. An party is Saddam Hussein pointing out that God become on their area contained in the Persian Gulf conflict (1991) and for this reason they could win. Allah, Saddam's god, is a pretend god because the conflict proved. notwithstanding, u.s.'s triumphing the conflict would not coach u.s. to be a Christian usa. we are blaspheming God by technique of calling ourselves a Christian usa at the same time as our greed, materialism, drunkenness, habit, homicide, abortion, delight, and so on. coach otherwise. We received the conflict because of a holy usa interior of this usa, that's, God's authentic praying those who were interceding no longer only for all individuals and allies, yet also for the Arabs because we want to work out all adult males come to the expertise of the authentic and residing God. The beast does issues contained in the call of God, yet is blasphemous because the justifications are incorrect. presently no usa or usa is regularly in touch about the gospel going forth as its important concentration. (We do see God's human beings -- His holy usa -- from each and every usa with that problem.) all of us recognize the countries of the international received't do God's will till Christ returns and His millennial reign is commonplace. we are to be making waiting for Christ's go back at the same time as God will set up His authority on earth. The earth could have a theocracy; being ruled by technique of God will convey perfection into the earth. yet till that day, not one of the earthly authority is acceptable to God. all of that is blasphemy. Even contained in the added effective countries there is evil in the gadget. In our own usa of u.s. we are seeing a lot sin being uncovered that is in the gadget.

there is no such thing. someone thought it was cute to make up a name like that after hearing the term "islamofacists."

even if they do exist, i'm not afraid they'll cut my head off. the islamofacists have that distinction.

and you can't even compare the so called christian facists to Nazis, cause NAZIS WERE SOCIALISTS. THEY WERE MORE LEFT THAN YOU ARE.
