This is an easy one to explain. In America, we have two distinct sides, liberal and conservative. And in those two factions, you have a fringe that modern media calls "the extreme right or left," except that the media doesnt report on the extreme left. Both of these groups believe that their cause is more important than the law. Getting their message out supercedes anything because they believe that if they FEEL IT, it must be right and just. There are extremists on both sides. On the right, you have people that believe killing abortion doctors will stop abortion. No, thats murder, too, regardless of how you FEEL about it. You have the E.L.F. on the left setting fire to or vandalizing SUVS, luxury homes and killing animals so they cant be used in science. They FEEL it, so it must be right. I couldnt care less which side you are on, but if you lead with your feelings versus using rational THOUGHT, you will do stupid things. What does it prove to spray paint the capital steps? What do protests prove? Seems to me that the only awareness we gain from protests is the fact that worthless, smelly, lice-infested, peace loving (but no idea on how to get it), hippies still roam the Earth. Will someone give each one of them a pound of pot so they will stay home?

Because the peace movement is more of a social occasion for political malcontents than a reasonable dialog for a defensible point of view. The concept of "free speech" has eroded to a bunch of yelling hooligans.

Some people will seize any opportunity to behave in a degenerate manner under the guise of political activism.

They should have given those guilty of the act scrub brushes and buckets of soapy water. Let them clean up their mess then arrest them.

Or just send the bill for clean up to the organizers of the rally!

People will resort to drastic action when they feel they have no voice and are of the opinion their views are being taken for granted. What is a person left with when passive demonstration becomes futile and irrelevant. It`s a difficult situation. I cannot condone it, but i can understand their motive.
