I have seen this happening.Do any other British people think this?I mean, why are our policemen so incredibly thick? Also, why have they taken up the American habit of hanging around 24-hour garages while drinking coffee or eating donuts?Do they think no-one will notice,or what??

You have to bear in mind that the police often use the local 'scum' as informants, and they have to mix with them if they're undercover, but I agree about the doughnuts I don't know if they stereotype American Policemen on TV but they always seem to have a big box of dunkin'doughnuts in the car or in the office.

I don't know why this Police officer was hanging around with the 'local scum', but I do not agree with the sick hate that people in this country have for the Police. Its a very hard job, with little or no thanks. Police work stupid hours at the service of everyone apart from themselves. They risk allegations being made about them at every call they go to.

After all they are human, and believe it or not they are allowed a lunch break every now and again. Next time you see a Police officer having a break at a service station think one of three things.... Is he here because the next call could be soon, and not having enough time to go back to the station? Is he actually taking a break, because he has had to fight to restrain someone who wants to hurt him? or is he having a breather from delivering a death message from a fatal RTI?

Please think before you speak.

Many years ago when I went clubbing I used to go the a club called Kiwis in Cardiff and downstairs was full of police officers and CID and upstairs were people from the more undesirable neighbourhoods in town and also people who had done time for criminal activities - I always found this very strange and the only way I know this was my ex was a copper and he used to hang out downstairs with the other local bobbies

I want to be fair in answering this and i`m sure there must be some police with integrity but it seems to me that even the ones
not behaving as badly as the people they are meant to be protecting us from lose any credibility they have through being put in the position were they are obliged to cover up for other members of the police forces crimes . the thugs in the low ranks are the result of the corruption at the top where they refuse to take responsibility for their actions .How many police even when caught on tape battering a member of the public some who have even died at the result of their treatment by the police have received any punishment .how many times have their statements to the public been proved to be a pack of lies and nothings done. But people are so bloody stupid and brainwashed into worrying about Muslims are taking over the country that they`re blind to every thing else and the" i don't need to worry i`ve done nothing wrong brigade" might soon be in for a shock if they find themselves accused of something they didn`t and couldn`t have done .but they find out nothing they can say or do will make one iota of difference in showing they couldn`t be guilty .

they are thick alright. there is a very thin line between leagal or otherwise, some do think that they are above the law. did you read the article about the female junior officer that refused to shake the hand of a very senior ranking officer on her passing out perade at Hendon London due to him being a male and it was against her religion. I thought that they where supposed to be open and just etc, religion was not part of the package.

I think you will find that it's mostly the corrupt police officers who drink with the criminal fraternity.

There is one Police officer I know and I bumped into in a pub outside Birmingham, he was sitting in the company of two of the biggest drug dealers in Birmingham and nearly fainted when he saw me...... and no he wasn't undercover, that was 5 years ago he was made up to sergeant last year .
One of these dealers has since died but the sergeants nephew is the biggest Crack dealer in the area where his uncle is the sergeant, and the other dealer has never been raided and is still in business.

It doesn't matter if they think we know as I was told " what are you going to do about it? where is your proof "!!!!!!!!!

Police do not even pee without being told too, information my friend,
no Police are off duty. At the pub its probably pouncing drinks or collecting backhanders.

So very ignorant...

How can you bulk all police into the same catagory?

This hate for the police in our country makes me sick, God forbid you should ever need them one day.

They work very hard under often very difficult circumstances and this is the appreciation they get.

Don't assume everyone is like that, just because you have seen a few like that..........

They are all human beings and have a life outside of work, a family etc
