I am doing a university paper which asks whether the citizen of the internet would actually give up their freedoms or anonymity, movement, freedom of speech in exchange for higher levels of regulation. The regulation would be in order to stop hackers (only the bad ones (they do not necessarily all hack for personal motives)), stop identity theft as well as extremist propoganda or child abuse, idenity theft or other criminal activities. Stopping the bad element of society would also restrict the rights of the good within the internet society. I have fully covered both the China, Iran, France arguments etc. I am just looking for a broad spectrum of what people think about this point. I want to put a point in regarding what the internet citizen would actually think and it would be really useful to get opinions from the real internet "netizens".
Thanks in anticipation.

I am also concerned about our part in this as a country. This man clearly was evil. The country clearly not stable. How can we be certain that this human being was given a stable trail? Please do not get me wrong, he should have been punished. Was this our right to start the ball rolling?

I think capital punishments should not be given under any circumstances... God has given us this life and he only has the right to take it. Atleast we have to give the accused a chance to live his life in this world as a better person...i strongly condemn capital punishment.. I am not particularly raising this due to saddams execution. he is a dictator so he is accountable for his crimes, but also is capital punishment will be an END for all crimes???

My car was seized by the police during a search warrant. What my question is: Is it legal that the police drove off in my car instead of having it towed to an impound yard? They told me they were taking it for now that I may get it back at a later time. I called both countys surrounding me that may have my car. I left numerous messages reguarding my vehichle and got no return call. I went to both police stations and neither county had a record of my car being seized. When I finally got hold of someone they told me if I could come up with $400 I could have it back. I got the money and made arrangements to get my car. I met with the head of the task force and he gave me my key and said I would have to follow him to get my car. I followed him to a spot down a road that led to a spot by the river bank. There I found my car unlocked and completely open to anyone. It was not in an impound yard or a secure place that it could not be messed with. This doesn't sound right to me?? Is this lega

an example would be the death penalty. Like the controversy over lethal injection. The world has changed from so many death penalties because it isn't "fair" or "it violates civil liberties and rights". why should they have any rights if they are just taking the rights away from the people they murdered? Maybe I just don't know enough about the situation but if anyone has any info and would like to enlighten me please do because I am struggling to understand this concept. Thank you for your answers!!! :)

What would this threat fall under?
A group of people( not a company) threaten to have an elderly person arrested for borrowing money that was never borrowed. I know myself There's nothing that can be done to the elderly lady for this But it is scareing her to no end. My question is are they breaking any laws doing this? She lives in West Virgina.
Also these people are the family of her Ex-boyfriend that she no longer wishes to talk to.LOL also the amount of the money is 30 dollars its nothing but she's affraid this will land her in jail. Are they breaking the law in anyway?
