Say you have kids....(I DO). How would you take care of a guy dealing drugs in the school zone that local cops won't?

If you can get video footage "stake" it out. Get a decent amount of video proof. Make a copy, give it to the cops. If they do nothing, make another copy-give to the local news. Escalate until you get results! Don't put yourself in danger though!

I agree with J.M. Glass and others who suggest talking to the school, other parents from the school, local anti-drug groups, the DA's office, the cops (again and again) and the local media.
Look for allies who will benefit from helping you: An ambitious person in the DA's office, a local reporter (newspaper or tv), even a crusading religious leader.
Try to make friends with someone even remotely connected to the DA's office and they can help lead you to a good ally. Watch your local news and look for a reporter who handles crime beats and e-mail them. Read local papers and find the same and e-mail them too.
DO NOT think about taking the law into your own hands. You know how violent drug dealers can be. Even if the guy in your neighborhood is a wimp, the people who sell HIM the drugs won't like it if you go all vigilante on him. The higher you go on the "drug dealer food chain" the more violent they get.

Start calling other parents at the school. Go as a group to the Principal with your concerns. Take video to back up what your telling him. If he will not call the police then call the local news media, and set up a protest with parents picketing the school for the media to film. You will not have to worry about the police doing anything at that point the drug dealer will go elsewhere.

It is a sensitive issue. You need to use caution. I would see if he or she is renting or owns the house they live. If they are renting you might consider contacting the owner of the property and explaining to them that you have noticed suspicious behavior at the location. I would make sure the owner understood that any deaths or injuries resulting from the improper management of the property would open the owner up to the possibility of a lawsuit. I would also remind him or her that the property may be confiscated by authorities if drug use is allowed by the owner of the property. I would consider video taping activity if it could be safely done. I would contact someone higher up at the police department such as the watch commander to see if you get a better response to your concerns.

If I were in your situation, I'd grab the bastard by the scruff of his neck, drag him out into the street, and threaten him with a shotgun, a pair of pliers, and a heavy-duty blowtorch. Personally, I think drugs should be legalized, but kids should NOT be exposed to any of it, whatsoever. Anyone profiting off of screwing up an innocent kid's growth and possibly killing them is the lowest scummy hemorrhoid on the bum of humanity.

Get photos of him selling. Make copies, and give to local news media. Explain that the cops do nothing.

If the cops won't take care of it, call your local DA. Call the news, call the mayor, Call the Govenor, If that don't do it? My recommendations are a 44 magnum!

If you have proof of him doing it (video camera) you should be able to take it to the state police and let them decide what to do if the locals wont do anything about it. I hope you get it taken care of.

I would be sure that the police know what is going on. Then I would educate my kids(as to drugs) and mind my business.
