she apparantly does a lot of work in ghana for the "under-priviledged"???
and has been awarded an MBE for recognition of her services to broadcasting and charity.
finally a "role" model for young black Brits

Yeah she does work for the 'Make Poverty History' campaign in Ghana and also is a Prince's Trust Ambassador. She is also, in my opinion, a pretty good role model for young people. She isn't just popular for being superficial and pretty but for actually wanting to change the world into a better place in some way. We need more young presenters like June.

The New Years Honours really are worthless now.
June Sarpong? Oh come on. A woman who only stays on TV as people think her appauling 'presenting' is an 'expression of ironic wit'. No love, she really is that bad.
I've never seen her front a charity campaign of any sort. I've seen her take part in things with dozens of other dime a dozen 'celebritys', but never a seen her actually promote any charity on her own. I was shocked to read she's a big supporter of the Samaritans. How? I've been involved with them for years and I've NEVER seen anything that even hinted she was a supporter.

she does a lot of work for war on want and is an ambassador for the princes trust! and shes not with the labour mp anymore.

I cannot stand that woman - her voice is so irritating, and she is so utterly gormless when "presenting" on tv.
My Dog would make a better tv presenter.
