If a girl under 16 is old enough to decide to have an abortion, shouldn't she be old enough to consent to sex?

If society does not believe she is mature enough to consent to sex, then how can she be mature enough to decide about an abortion?

What is your opinion?

Please, no cases about child rape, incest, etc as that is not the question. This is not asking/judging whether or not an abortion is a good idea. This question is asking whether it makes sense to make the age a girl can choose an abortion the same as the age where a girl can choose to create the reason for the abortion.

I look forward to reading your answers.

This is a very slippery slope. All of Richard Pryors and Chris Rock's videos would have to be removed (along with any other comedian who uses that word). Then, any other derogatory word for any race would have to be banned also (honkey, cracker, raghead, wet back, beaner, chink, slantyeyed, etc).
One of the foundations of this country is freedom of speech. Even speech that is deplorable, is still legal.

He posted bond and never returned to Illinois. My question is what is the time limit, if any, that the state of Illinois can drop the charges? And if there isn't a time limit, can the state of Illinois continue to press charges against him without any witnesses? What is the time that he will be facing if he's caught?

I did talk to my local postmaster to hold my mail a few days, but he does not care what I use to hold the next box, has long it is the same height.

Gays and lesbian can legally raise children, so the whole "protecting family" issue is a moot point. And those that feel like a family is best with a mom and a dad do nothing to stop the rise of single parent homes that are now the majority in the US. So what do these people have to gain, what does the country have to gain by stopping them from getting married? Name one thing. Just one.

I will admit that I may be influenced somewhat by the Maury show, but I think that subjecting their wives or girlfriends (not to mention the children) to that kind of grief through no fault of their own is EXTREMELY ABUSIVE, and it is sickening for such women to forgive and forget and allow the father to be in the child's life.

While this has never happened to me, I can assure you that I WOULD SEE TO IT that any man ever denied my child's paternity would NEVER, EVER see that child again. Forget the DNA test. Let him wonder for the rest of his miserable life. A child deserves better in life than a father who doesn't love him or her, and is better off being fatherless.

I've heard that the hecklers plan to seek monetary compensation from Michael Richards. However, what exactly did Michael Richards do that was illegal? I don't agree with his racist outburst, but we still have something called the First Amendment. Also, I have to say that I don't have any sympathy for the hecklers, since if they didn't like Richards' performance, they should have politely left instead of heckling him. If anything, they provoked him.

I dont like to call myself a 'victim" of an online predator because I take responsibility for my actions, but that is still what i'm classified as. I have been working on starting a campaign about Internet awareness and online predators. I would like to hear what you would think if someone went to your local school to tell their story about what happened to them when they met an online predator and gave some statistics and tried to promote safer online activity by the younger children in your community. Young children become "victims" of online predators on a daily basis. Myself and the people I'm working with to start my campaign believe that its something that needs to be taken care of, its something that needs to be addressed and it may not be pretty but its a disgusting fact of life that there are people like that out there that Young teens need to be aware of. So again, I would like to know what you would think if someone went to your local school to tell their story?

I'm a 21 year old girl who works alone most of the time in a small office where we handle large sums of cash (check cashing, western union, money orders etc...). Normally, I only have help 1 day of the week. It isnt the best neighborhood and the shopping center is pretty small. I have considered registering a gun and keeping it on me while at work. Of course the owner wouldn't approve- I'd do this without telling anyone. There has been a rash of robberies at places liek this in the area. Each time, the men had guns, but didnt use them. I would feel more secure if I had a firearm. I would need to be approved and then trianed before doing so, and I'd like to do it ASAP. What laws/ regulations do I need to check for? Any tips/ what do you think?

No matter what happens (you lose your job, have a minor car accident, your neighbor makes you angry, you buy expired food) most American's thoughts immediately turn to lawsuits.

Is it just every American's dream to be set for life due to a minor inconvenience?
Or is it greed & greedy lawyers?

Or are we just so blind that we cannot see that our frivolous lawsuits are running American jobs out of America and we do not care that our children's opportunities are dwindling?

Your thoughts?

I've contributed to special causes before, volunteered and have tried to help. I do however wonder, if continuing to Aid African Nations is such a good Idea. Most African Nations have Ultra Corrupt Governments that pocket most of the Aid sent, also won't Aiding cause people to be dependant on receiving help rather than being self suffiecient.

Biological children need and deserve fit parents just as much. If there are unfit parents, then the child should be given to a better family. And why not? There's plenty of willing people waiting to adopt. It won't just be beneficial for the children, but for our society in the long run given that more often than not good parents=good cycle.
