I believe abortion is murder. no matter how you look at it... with the statement that there are 1.37 million abortions a year. I don't know if that figure is correct but if it is.. Now lets make abortions illegal, what lives do these 1.37 million children have to look forward to. Since their parents obviously don't want them 1- either they will be neglected. 2- they will be placed upon the government to care for reflecting in your taxes. And everyones always crying over taxes being raised. 3- maybe some will wake up and realize their parents and love the children. When you fiddle around in the world today you realize that children want all the fun and none of the risk. Its wrong either way I grieve for the children aborted and worry about the day it becomes illegal. For the children that might have to suffer. But either way life is always a better choice than death.

Abortion should be legal, to prevent "back street abortions" done by someone who isn't a medical practitoner. Whether it is legal or illegal women will still have abortions and take any actions needed as desperate as they maybe to abort the baby. This is why there needs to be a choice.

Who are we to judge whether or not someone should be given the right to have an abortion, what if the woman had been raped or abused and became pregnant if abortion was illegal then she wouldn't have any choice but to have that baby, which i think is wrong. Also what if the woman and man had been using protection and for reasons weren't planning a family why should their right be taken away.

Although i think women who are careless or that sleep around and get pregnant and then have abortions is wrong.

as a person i am against it but i do not have the right to tell another what to do to there body. Keep it legal but i think there should be health classes in 6th and 7th grades for girls teaching them how hard it is mentally after having one , how hard it is to raise a child and how hard it is giving up a child. There could be classes for guys only to help them understand that they helped with tthe baby making and what rights they could or could not have in thes situations. If we educate people young we may have less abortion and teen pregnacy making the issue smaller and less of an issue

Only in the case when the mother is dying.
Otherwise, abortion should be illegal.
Why: There are 1.37 million abortions every year
93% of those are for birth control, so it could have been prevented anyway
A fetus is human life as was proved by embryologists, so technically I dont think we would want to legalize the mass destruction of human life
less than 1% of those abortions are from incest or rape
-this is horrible and disgusting, but two wrongs dont make a right
-instead the govt should help pay child support for the victim as well as counseling and be harder on rapists

Abortion should be legal. Abortion itself is wrong, but old men in Congress should never have the right to tell a woman what she can or can't do with her body. And, we know that if it was one of THEIR daughters who got pregnant, they'd support it. The legality of abortion is not based on ethics or religion, that's the morality of it. Legally, abortion should be allowed, because no man can tell a woman what to do with her body.

Abortion IS legal. Although not explicitly stated in the constitution of the United States, case law has established a right to privacy. How do you tell a woman what she can or cannot do with her body? I believe that actual life should be given precedence over prospective life until the fetus is born. Then the fetus becomes a baby and a person with the full sets of constitutional rights. Calling a fetus "unborn" or "preborn" does not change that status. The constitution clearly states that the rights enumerated therein belong to those persons "born or naturalized." Because the fetus has yet to be born, it has no rights and must, therefore, be treated as secondary to the rights of the mother.

While I don't like it and understand it does in fact end a life I understand that it is a choice. It is sometimes neccesary in circumstances like rape, etc. It is the womans body and it needs to be the womans choice. We were all given free will and we all sin everyday. It states in the bible that a sin is a sin is a sin so if you were to take the religion aspect of it and say it's murder and it's against Gods will taking the lords name in vain is a sin as well and it states in the bible that no one sin is worse than the other, they are all sins. Would it be better to have the baby and leave it somewhere or out in a dumpster? Absolutly not in my book. Yes there are alternatives to abortion such as giving the baby up for adoption after it is born but the fact is the woman still has to carry that child for 9 months. There is alot of circumstances to look at and since we do not know each individual circumstance - I believe it should be legal.

For those that say abortion should be legal because of incest and rape. They account for around 3%. The life of the mother another 3%. So some where around 94% are just out right murder because we don't want to inconvenience the mother!

ABortions should be kept legal! If people want to cut back on abortions then instill moral in both your female and male children. Teach the boys to respect women and that no means no. Therefore it will hopefully cut back on all the rape issues.
Teach the girls that abortion is wrong etc.
Teach both of them that if they want to have sex they should use protection.
If the children learn the lesson that the parents have taught them then the only issue left on abortion would be the one that both mother and unborn child's life is at risk.
One ounce of prevention is worth of pound of cure.
We don't need the government to tell us we can't do it.
Making this issue illegal would take away the rights of a woman.
