I am in a custody case with an ex in KY and my case was pushed into family court which becomes effective in January. I wonder what the benefits are of it. What could be the down side of it?

I work in Family Court in Delaware. The advantage is that the people in the Family Court are dedicated to the best interests of the children over everything else. They will become familiar with the cases more as time goes on. Your case will not be "lost" among other issues that the Court needs to address that it may feel are more important. Good luck!!
