The USPS can sometimes help, there are clues on the postmark, time-stamp, etc, they may be able to point you in the right direction. Look through old mail for similar handwriting.. Hire a Private Detective to analyze the letter... how much money you got? How bad do you want to know?

it is hard to track...only with stamp you can find...which city its come from and what date...and then if you know someone in that area...you have doubt on...you can work from there...but its really hard...as person can send the letter from different post office or city.....its quite hard...and if its hand written..and you have doubt on someone...you can take his/her hand writing samples and go to expert.....3rd if its really dangerous are life threatening thing....you can go to police and they will do something for preventions...anyway good luck
