I filed for divorce as a California resident, but I now live in another state. Can't get anyone here to comment on another state's law, and time is of the essence now, so....

For California, what's the difference between "status only" or "full judgment"? What are "reserved issues"? (Specifically, form FL-180 and FL-190.)

I will greatly appreciate all quick and complete answers!

I keep hearing that guns are for protection, and they make you safer. Yet the US has the most guns AND violent crime per capita of any western country.

I filed for divorce and the court date is on September 25. and I put on the papers that I want sole custody and he will have open visitation rights since he's never been there for his daughter. I'm doing the divorce by myself without a lawyer(Pro-Se) and a sheriff already took him the summons of divorce and I went through all the steps. He already told his dad he's not going to appear in court that day and he lives in Puerto Rico and I live in New Jersey. We were married on June 2002 and he left on August 2002 with another woman and if I don't call for him to speak with our daughter, he doesn't. So what do you think? I'm really nervous

I see there is a coupon for an item in a chain store. The big letter says this item is for 5.00 bucks. ( NO word "off" ).
Then the fine print say cashier will less 5.00. ( No word "off")
The item is $30 at regular price.
Is there a case for false advertisement ?
Must the vendor honor the 5 bucks for the item. Or they can get away for the confusion ?

My mother owns a duplex.. We bought it together so she lives there and I rent studio on the same street. She took a vacation to do some renovation of her apt. I am helping her paint the walls, replacing light fixtures, etc. Three months ago we gave 1/2
the money to replace windows ($4,500). Yesterday, the guys showed up at my mothers door steps to replace these windows.

They did a hell of a job, fast with no problems BUT the salesman who sold us the windows showed different windows then ones they installed yesterday (which are cheaper windows).
She tried to stop them and told them not to replace it but they didnt listen.

She didn’t give them the other half of the balance. The fact that they did this to a woman with no husband and hardly speaks english really pisses me off.

I only live here with a green card...what are my actions? Is it worth bringing in a lawyer cause I cant really afford one? What would you do?

Can anyone tell me the TRUE laws regarding rest periods at work in the UK.
We have been told at work that we are no longer allowed tea breaks.
The full time workers work 9am to 5pm and have a half an hour unpaid lunch break.
I work part time (11am - 4pm) with no break for lunch.
The full time workers have been told if they want a break they have to either come in earlier or stay later and the break will still be unpaid.

I need to find out the true law regarding this as soon as possible with a source to back it up.

I work for ACORN, we're a non-profit org. and I love the work we do in low income communities, educatoin reform, etc. etc. etc... But if we try to form a union they'll fire us!! They fight for raised minimum wage, and then fight in courts so they don't have to pay us those wages!!! WTF!!! I'm so frustrated right now. Any suggestions?
