the odds a court is gonna put a woman in jail with three small kids for child support is slim. my ex is 7 yrs behind without support and never served a day. 30,000 dollars

Give it up..........My ex...is not just a year behind.........HE IS A WHOLE LIFE TIME BEHIND. - they slap them on the wrist...Point their little useless fingers at them and say...YOU BETTER PAY or you'll go to jail...they pay long enough to say they made an attempt .......and and go on their merry little way.
Here's the thing....
You can do one of two things. PRAY real hard that they get a sense of moral obligation to their child or figure out a way to do with out them in every way possible. Get a good attorney...but, be prepared to pay for them and is it gonna be worth the frustration in the long run.........NO.......figure out how to make it without their money, and be the bigger person for your kids sake. They will figure it all out in the long run...Mine have, and it wasn't from my doing. Sure it will be hard and overwhelming at times. But...later...when their adults...Who's house do you think they will go to for Christmas, thanksgiving, and all the things that matters most in life. Who's respect will you have....Theirs.
Best of luck and I hope that someday soon - someone good will come into your life. Love your kids, don't talk bad about the other parent in front of them. I'm not saying it's not easy. Don't put your kids in the middle of a battle zone. That's not good or healthy for them in the long run....You look in the mirror and tell yourself (I will get through this).
by the way....my ex is $120,960 in debt to me. I will never see that money....(he has been in jail off and on for the last 12 years, but not from my non-childsupport attempts...it was stupid drinking, drugs and everything else. what can I say - He's a dumbass)

It really depends. If a person seems to be working on getting money to pay child support, the court will usually try and keep them on that path. If they are just not paying, they will usually get a harsher punishment. Keep working on what is best for all the children involved and hopefully the courts will do the same.

.it depends on how full the jails are, sweetie, it can be from a few days to a few months, they can't pay if they are in jail, so it all depends on how full the jails are at the time, it's not like they murdered anyone, so the law doesn't really look at it as a "crime",just an inconvenience

ok, wait a minute, there are numerous distinctive unrelated subject concerns right here that are being crossed at incorrect places. a million. Contempt of court docket skill that a choose at any time shows you in contempt, many times for the two blatantly violating a court docket order or for disrespecting the choose or the court docket. many times the latter. court docket orders that are violated in lots of cases carry their own punishment, that could contain detention center time. 2. in case your ex is $15,000 in arrears to you for infant, he's the guy who gets the two detention center-time for lower back help OR a contempt of court docket order; in lots of cases meaning a minimum of slightly detention center time. that may no longer considered to result his charge household projects except this is for extra suitable than 2 wks AND he can exhibit loss of wages (which might in user-friendly terms decrease his money for that factor era). infant help Enforcement is who keeps tabs on those adult men owing lower back help. They do the grimy artwork, nonetheless you may periodically call and 'remind' them approximately him. they could be those to deliver an order to the courts for detention center time. the only opposite direction to deliver him to detention center for this could be a civil lawsuit for the lower back help. 3. except there is a few court docket order saying which you're in charge on your ex's costs then you are no longer. in actuality, despite if there grew to become into an order, you're waiting to illustrate to the courts that charge on your ex husbands lawyer costs is next in user-friendly terms to him paying you what he owes you FIRST... for this reason, till he pays you, the lawyer gets no longer something. If the lawyer grew to become right into a divorce lawyer, then there could be some thing interior the divorce decrees that states who's in charge for the legal experts costs. In my state this is important that this be explicitly stated. If he grew to become into retained after the divorce, even a million day, then you owe him no longer something.
