Most counties will have a free lawyer consultation available, make that appointment and get the expungement paperwork. You will need to fill out quite a bit of paperwork and possibly have letters of reference from people who can vouch for the fact that the criminal charge was an aberration, a one time thing. file the papers with your county and get a court date, you will probably not need a lawyer, you will see the judge and the judge will read over everything in your file, then make the decision whether to expunge that matter from your county file or not. be aware that the state BCA may not be expunged from a county judge's decision, meaning the only file that can be sealed by order of a county judge is the county's file. the police and state agencies may still have record of that crime. It may be worth the few dollars to run a state criminal background check on yourself to see if that matter even shows up in your file so you will know what people see when they run a check on you.

Costs to file the papers will vary by county, look at your county's online site to see if they have a price menu posted, or call the courthouse to find out.

Depends on how old you were when you were charged with the misdemeanor...If you were under the age of 18 it can be expounged from your record....I think you'd have to contact an attorney about that one. I'm not too sure if you can erase prior convictions.
